What was wrong with your Suburban 2500?Picked up the Suburban 2500, yesterday and it seems to be fully repaired. It passed state inspection, today, and I got it registered, finally. The clerk asked me why it took so long to get it registered... (It had been out of registration for over a year); I responded truthfully that the check engine light had been on, and it took us this long to figure out what was wrong and repair it.
The Escalade is finally registered to me -- got that done today, too. I'll get the title in 2 - 3 weeks.
It kept going into limp mode. First we thought it was the transmission. The transmission shop said it was the throttle body. They replaced the throttle body and it's harness. Things were great for a week, and then it started "reduced engine power again". Took it to our wiring shop, he thought it might be the connector on the body side of the harness, so he replaced that. Limp mode went away for several days and then came back. The only thing we hadn't addressed was the knock sensors, which had been throwing acode for a couple of years. Those were fixed yesterday. What was wrong with your Suburban 2500?
Hit up the LS truck forum, those guys do all kinds of modsI agree. I just need to start digging in--see what I find. Hopefully there's no programming or anything else involving the bcm.
Just the 6.0 is worth the 3k. At least that's what they are selling for on fleabay. Great buy. The coolant leak could be the heater core.Welp... I may have done a thing today...

It was sold as 200k miles, but it's actually 226k. Still runs nice. Likely needs a transmission rebuild, but that was disclosed before I bought it. AC seems to be dropping water into the passenger floorboard. Gotta figure out what that is all about. But it saved me $500 on the sale. I'll register it tomorrow and see what the taxes are on it. But I bought it for $3k. I'm fairly sure I could part it out for $4k - $5k, if I had to. Hope to get another 100,000 miles out of it, though -- after having the transmission and AC drains checked out. The driver's seat isn't even ripped up. And it's a Platinum edition; that includes heated and cooled seats, front and second row plus heated/cooled cupholders up front.
Which lights are those? I'm due for an upgrade.Replaced the foglights with LED pods from harbor freight, rigged the original bracket and used the adjustment nut as a spacer. Works great, looks great, extremely bright
