Ah shit, man. That sucks.

Not sure if you plan to do the work yourself or take it somewhere, but Baertrax in Dallas regeared my '89 Jimmy a couple years back, and they seem to do solid work. I did the break in, changed the diff fluid, then immediately drove to Silverton, CO, did the Alpine Loop, then drove right back. No troubles with the new rear end at all.

Rear differential regeared to 4.10 (with two new axle shafts and all new bearings/seals) ran approx $1600 OTD if I remember correctly. However, I did buy and provide my own ring and pinion gear set, so you'll have to add that to the $1600. You might save about $500 if you don't need new axle shafts.

Did they give you vaseline before they bent you over!!:893MrT-thumb:

DOH' --- read to fast.

Still stick w/ post. Your going to love the stopping power. Bead them in when you get it all done and you will be set. ... Make sure nothing can be a projectile in the tahoe before you do the bead in process. lol seriously
Yeah, I'm finally dropping some cash on the Tahoe...been sitting idle too long. I've put around 500 miles on it in the last year & a half...lol

I was going to buy everything from FreedomMotorsports but I couldnt get ahold of him. Bought the rotors & Goodridge lines from Amazon & the pads & calipers from work.

I've got coilover parts, a full front end rebuild, new upper & lower arms, complete hydroboost swap, & some misc items all sitting in the garage ready to go. Time to start the tear down. Also got a Esky roof rack coming...hopefully Thursday...

Roger must be away from for the time. He is a great guy to deal with. Bought all my stuff from him.

Sounds like you have quite the build going on. Be like driving a new tahoe again.

I want to do your NNBS running boards idea. Good luck with the tear down. Let me know how you like the brake setup.

put a new o2 sensor on the rear passenger side - no more CEL.

also redistributed the grease on the intermediate shaft - no more annoying clunks for the time being.

Changed the oil and got a new O2 sensor installed to clear the CEL.

Pulled the valve covers to find that I'm the owner of a sub 100k mile Tahoe that needs new heads because of the F'd up Castech fail. This is my first GM and I've only had the thing for 3000 miles too.
