For you run into the heat shield /clearance problem at all?


There are 2 heat shields that can hang you up. The first one is bolted to the trans and obvious. Unbolt the 2 bolts, diff sizes in my case and push it up out of the way.

The second one is above the cat against the floor boards. I just bent the corner of it down out of the way by hand so i could pull the servo in and out and bent it back when i was done.

I got my servo from Oregon Performance Transmission also. I purchased from their eBay store and got it for about $15 shipped if I remember correctly. This was WELL over 10 years ago though, so the price might be a bit higher than that by now. The servo was one of the first few mods I did to my truck. Made a night and day difference IMO. And if you are getting a tune, I HIGHLY recommend getting a servo installed before getting it tuned, that way your tuner can more accurately adjust the shift points for you.

Did you get the longer pin and new spring? Cause I’ve been reading a lil about it and it’s recommended to replace the spring from years of use, same thing with the e-clip for the Servo pin and the longer pin is needed because it seems the stock pin doesn’t have the movement that’s needed with the new Servo

No, I didn't get a longer pin or new spring. But then again, ten years ago I never saw a single person mention a damn thing about a new pin or spring. And back when I installed my servo, I think my truck still had less than 80k miles on it.
I guess now that our trucks are getting up in age, and far more wear and tear than ten years ago, people are suggesting that the spring and pin be replaced.

Also, another tip that I have not seen many people mention. When reinstalling the servo cover, a lot of pressure needs to be applied to be able to get the snapring back into the groove around the cover. I ended up using a chunk of 2x4 wood about 6 inches long, and a long pry bar. I wedged the wood up against the transmission tunnel/floorboard of the truck just opposite of the servo cover, and positoned the prybar on the wood, to where it was just between the wood and the servo cover. I was able to flex the praybar enough to get the cover pressed in ALL the way so I could easily get the snapring back in. With the wood behind the prybar, that was just enough proper spacing for the prybar to get that cover pressed in perfectly. Plus my prybar ended up being just the right length that I was able to rest the handle behind the torsion bar, and that basically held the pry bar in position. That allowed me to use both hands to reinstall that PITA snapring on the cover. If you don't have a helper that can hold that prybar against the cover during re-install, I highly suggest getting some wood and a prybar to figure a way to have it hold itself in like I did.

I contacted oregonperformance about a recommendation with my Yukon to help with towing and that I had 170k on the transmission . They recommended the corvette and superior fourth gear billet servo. They said I didn’t need the longer pin. That didn’t say anything about changing out the spring or anything like that. The fourth gear servo came with the little spring inside where you take the second gear apart. It was a little stiffer.

I can definitely tell a difference in the transmission in how it shifts

Put my new plugs and wires in yesterday. Added and aux port to the factory radio today. The plug is from a 17 cruze. Usb wasn't working so I kept this one to try. It's not 100% mounted but fits really snug. It's wired into the black c2 connector on the back of the radio. 3 wires, drk grn/wht, brn/white, blk/wht. From a 17 cruze. The usb port wasn't working so I replaced it with a new housing as it comes assembled already
