Went to the gym this morning. As soon as I left the house at 6am check engine light came on. Looks like I'll be diagnosing this one late this week. Thinking starting with a gas cap. 3d89c93e508b68c6af713950e7f93aa1.jpg

I was going to do KYB MonoMax shocks today on my 2500. I've had to reschedule for later this week.

My 2c

I ran those on my f150. They are a good shock, but I like the bilstein's better. 5100's ride great on my lifted jeep and 4600s are perfect for a lower ride height vehicle. My Esky and Denali have both ran 4600's.

Sort of apples to oranges though. The f150 had a slight crank and 34's, more similar to the Jeep whereas the caddy and denali are on 32" tires and closer to the ground, plus ford vs GM.

im just rambling now.

Ordered the lowering kit and shocks for the Escalade, finally ditching the shot autoride shocks

Nice! Which kit?

I want to get rid of mine, but the bags are in great shape and the load levelling feature is convenient. I liked the ride in the rear of my old denali with bilsteins better. My esky only has bilsteins in the front.

did my 2nd retrofit

turns out the H1 7.1 is VERY different from the H1 7.0, and this new kit turned 12 hours into less than 2

waiting for sealant to dry over night and then I'll get them installed and tested

also making a YouTube how to guide because it's so simple, but there are no good guides online
The adapters should make that a 1hr job, took me 30 minutes lol

Bilstein yellow/blue shocks front and rear with a 2” lowering spring in the rear so it sits level, need to adjust the front keys a hair I think, I’ve got lowering keys if needed, down the road I might go lower but for now it will look a lil better and ride so much better

I bought one!

Just bought a 2004 Yukon XL 2500 with the 6.0L. It has 110k miles on it and is in great shape. I had been searching high and low for a V10 Excursion. After checking out a few it just seemed like they were all more worn than I wanted - and expensive! Then my dad sent me a link for a hideous green (state park vehicle) 07 2500 Suburban. It only had 80k miles but was out of my price range. Turns out, the same place had the 04 I ended up buying. I hadn't really been looking at Suburbans or Yukons because the few times I'd searched for them I found nothing viable for me (either too far away or too expensive). I'm extremely excited and happy that this one came my way.

It needs a couple small things. Looks like the oil pressure sending unit is bad and maybe the trans temp gauge isn't working. I'm really excited to go to town giving it its inaugural detailing - something I've always loved doing to a new to me car.

I've never driven a heavy duty truck before. So, it was a bit different of a feel. When I put it in 4wd it was louder than I had experienced before - not bad loud, just noticeable and different.

I'm going from a 2001 Nissan Xterra, that I love and thought I'd drive until it fell apart. But, our plans changed. My wife and I plan on hitting the road to live full-time in our 33' travel trailer with our 1.5 year old daughter, dog, and cat. A bit crazy, but it is ultimately what brought me to this forum.

I'm super excited and anxious to pick it up in a few days (getting a power lock fixed first)!

So I picked up my blue behemoth last night! I'm attaching a few interior & engine bay pictures I took this snowy morning with my cell phone. I'm really excited to hook it up to my 33' travel trailer and scram. But, the nature of living in the northeast means I'll have to wait a few months still.

On the drive home the speedo stopped working. It looked a little twitchy at first and then said I was going 40mph on the highway and I was moving with traffic, so that couldn't have been. I came to a stop at an intersection and it went to 0mph and stayed there.

This is my first heavy duty truck. Any input on how it should track/steer/travel down the highway? It reminds me when I went from a TDI Sportwagen to an Xterra. The Xterra felt all over the place, but only for a few rides and then it felt natural.

Here are a few snowy pics...

Looks like a good deal to me. Nice interior. Everything can be fixed. just take it one problem at a time.
