replaced the blower resistor on my 2005 GMC Denali...I had lost complete fan speed control (it has been having a mind of its own since my purchase in June) this week...

appeared to be one of 3 fixes...the blower worked sometimes so I didn't think it was that...it could be the blower resistor or the HVAC control module and that was far more expensive so I tried the lesser priced "fix" knowing I could return the resistor if that wasn't the fix...

not happy with buying a no-name part but the OEM doesn't seem available (mine had the 3 prong connector in back for Auto HVAC) but so far I can turn the fan on and off as well as in between...

pic of the OEM part

I cut out my passenger rocker and replaced it with fresh metal. I cleaned all the loose rust off, used Corroseal on the inner rocker and used POR-15 inside the cab corner.

I welded the new panel in place. Ground down the welds and used a little Bondo to smooth out the transition from the fresh metal and the factory rocker (profile is slightly different).

I then masked the cab corners, fenders and inside the cab. I primed and followed up with bed liner.

I plan to install Trail Armor plastic rocker covers, once I finish the driver's side.

PSA: Don't put Corroseal on anything you are planning to weld ..it takes forever to grind off... super tough.

Also,
PSA: after you finish for the day...and all the sheet metal is ready and fitted. Make sure you move it before you move your truck!

I had to use the drive side piece and redo it... the bends were too much to straighten...

Wanted to change the look of the rear tail lights, so last week I bought the C bar leds. The new ones came in today, if I have time tomorrow I'm going to install them.

Might sell the old rear leds tail lights.
Finally, I installed the C-bar LED tail lights.

Man rockers are no joke, so much time and effort.
I still have small holes to patch up on my passenger side that I have been putting off for months.

Put in a half tank of corn, actually E70, to top it off. This station is super-consistent with the ethanol percentage, it's even marked at 70% on the pump. Can't beat the price and performance!

Is that the Alta station, or somewhere else? Boy, do I miss my corn gas!

On another note, I finally decided to pickup a 5.3 from an ‘04 Burb… I really wanted a 6.0, but they’re getting harder to come by, and spendy.. got this one for $500, and was a good engine when pulled, so hopefully in decent shape. I’m planning to bore it over a bit for some extra cubes.. so far, it’s not too bad as far as bolts / corrosion. There were 2 broken exhaust manifold bolts, but the rest came out fine. Heads were definitely dirty.. not too good about the oil changes apparently..
