How did you get that much chop to the idle? Who did the tune? That’s what I’m trying to do with my Silverado but it seems like there’s no chop, I’m not happy with Justin. I still need to install the headers but still, I should be hearing way more chop.

GM did the tune (stock lol). The open exhaust may make it sound meatier than it really is, too.

I put "open headers" in the title but, more accurately, it's open Y-pipe. I gotta cut off the ball-and-socket connection and weld on my factory flange. Then I'll cut it off again later to install the electric cut-out. lol

I plan to finish the exhaust Saturday morning as I have a tuner lined up for Saturday evening. I have a laundry list of what I want and maintaining as much chop as reasonably possible is on the list.

...Or maybe my buddy lied about the cam specs. lol

I guess I’ll see if I can fit my headers in. I have a feeling it’s gonna be a lot of cutting and welding on the y-pipe to make it sit up high enough to clear when it’s aired out since the frame is about half height and it needs to stay flush with the bottom of it.

This was actually last night, but I took it back out to announce to the neighbors that the lunatic on the street that mows after dark had wheels again:

Idle vid:

DAMN!! Sounds mean. Should've revved it a few times. Do you have a cam? I forget now. Sounds like it. Is that with that cut out open?

Ain't nothing but a little sectioning of the legs. You'll have to disconnect the rest of the exhaust, like at the joint just after the cross member cuz that part will need to be slid forward a couple inches to maintain the angle of the two legs. Then just add a filler piece to make up for the length.

Sounds easier said than done, but that should be about the gist of it.
