There are all sizes out there but what I used for my radio was indeed larger. A 1-1/8 bit was needed. I also installed mine inside the console and attached it to my radio.In my experience those aftermarket hardwire usb charges are larger than the hole. I've had to trim a tiny bit of the dash
Why go through all the hassles, just spend $8 and get an Aukey mini flush fit usb adapter.

UM, where did you think it was going to connect to? lolFound out there is NOT a GM plug for cigarette to USB conversion that doesn’t involve routing it to the head unit. Scam.
