no, lol you can log and record data to efi live with the autocal connected to the obd port and then a usb cable to the autocal and pc and running the efi live software (works as a pass-thru device), I have watched the live data this way which is pretty cool but just can't figure out the settings to capture specific data and then replay, too many options and boxes to check, I just haven't played with it enough yet to figure it all out.
people tune with efi live just like they do with hp tuners, you have to pay for it just as well.
efi makes the autocal, bb just puts there name on it (and it's possible it may have some specific firmware of some kind as well)
https://www.efilive.com/v8-scan-and-tune
***edit it says right on the linked page that tuners can make there own brand name for the autocals and select options, which is what bb does.
Oh yeah, I know efilive makes the Autocal, I thought you were having BB tune it. My bad.

when you order a tune from bb for say a vehicle like my 18 silverado, you have to record the ecm lock code with the autocal, then you have to send that code to bb they in turn send it to efi in new zealand and then have to wait for efi to unlock the code and send it back to bb and for them to send the code to you so you can unlock the ecm to install the tunes.
this also why the tuners are not able to do the 2019+ vehicles yet the ecm is locked and there is no unlock figured out yet, at least this was the case as of a few months ago but there working on it.
Yeah I was reading about that. Hope they figure it out but GM is making it harder with each new generation for anybody to tune their vehicles. Same thing with the rest of the electronics. It used to be everybody would yank the factory stereo out and put some nice aftermarket stuff that worked and sounded better. I wonder how hard it is on the latest platform? That shit is tied into everything now, like tentacles throughout the whole truck. Kinda scary when you think about how much the electronics control so much stuff now. It’s got it’s hands on everything including steering, braking, etc. You know, “when things go wrong” kind of scary.

ya the silverado has a bb tune and the yukon will as well, I was wanting to record the transmission data on the yukon to show the shop that built it so they could see what it was doing before I took it back, efi has a section (page) for the 6l80 and it shows all the data shifts solenoids and pressures, etc I just couldn't figure out how to set it to that page and then record that specific section of data which I know it can.

on my 2018 you can just use the maestro rr to retain everything so that would also be the same for the suv's up to 2020 but the 2021's are android based or will be within the year and that changes everything.

I have a feeling they’re proprietary or if not they will be soon.

Yep whole different ball game, if anything the system will likely have to be rooted and then custom rom's made just like they do on the phones and doing that will probably void your warranty, etc. someone will do it, everything is hackable regardless of what they say.

Another reason I wouldn't buy a new vehicle.

Why not use the Tech2 to record that data?

Usually my Yukon waits for me to fix something before something else breaks. My new O2 sensors arrived on Friday. But before I could install them, the left turn signal has started hyperflashing. No bulbs burned out. I'm hoping it's a loose connector, or a bad resistor in my aftermarket taillight. But there's something else. The turn signal works normally for two flashes before going hyper. That's probably not a resistor, I'm thinking.
