What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Well after trying to figure out my brake issue the front hub started making little noise today. Guess that could be the issue. Bought the moog hub and it lasted just over a year

Whats the better one thatll last more then a year atleast. delco, dorman or timkin?

take the moog back to wherever you bought it, should have a 3 year warranty

You might want to loosen them so they don’t seize later. Just snug them up with a 3/8” ratchet.

Maybe I'll find someone to borrow them from, I just want to take the spacers out and drop the rear another inch. No need to buy them just to use them once

Sorry, I was thinking about a different type of spring clamp so disregard what I said about those being so cheap lol.

Engine is out of the hoe!
mounted it up on the engine stand, didn't have bolts that fit so i made some spacers out of tubing and used the power steering/alt mount ones.
yup, to0 long to turn the engine.


i'll get some bolts during the week some time that actually fit.

And i pulled the lifters outta there, noticed some light grooves in the rollers, it catches my finger nail just slightly.
I think i'm replacing them...

Swapped out struts in the front and replaced the sway bar links. Spring compressors I bought were rock solid.

Went AC Delco for both.

Using only a pair of compressors on a fullsize and not being sketchy is impressive. What's the deets on 'em?

Just buy a set, the ones I got were about $12-15 for 2 pairs that were slightly different from each other. They don’t loan them afaik.

I borrowed a set from O'Reilly and they started bending. Borrowed a similar set from AutoZone and used all four to distribute the load. It worked fine, but took twice as long setting up and having to turn four compressors a little at a time. It's a cramped mess of steel everywhere.

I have never seen a set that I can borrow from a auto parts store that I trust.

You don't need compressors to remove spacers in the rear. Unbolt the bottoms of the shocks, unbolt the bottoms of the sway bar end links, jack up the frame on one side until the coil is loose, remove spacer, lower that side making sure coil is seated properly, jack up and repeat for the other side, reattach end links and shock. Done. Just gotta watch the brake hose in the middle when jacking up the frame/body so you don't go too high. You shouldn't have to go very high with lowering springs, though.

Yeah I got confused on another thread where the convo was about my favorite kind of clamp (spring) for hoses and the pliers used to install and remove those. The last set of spring compressors I borrowed from an auto parts store almost killed me, years ago. My NNBS Silvy doesn’t have these contraptions yo.

That’s what I thought. I figured what I spent on the kit, I’d more than save by doing it myself just in the first set.
