Did we ever come to a conclusion on the fan upgrade? I know we all had meters out one day checking the cfm, but we also all had different variables (different Rads, coolers in different locations, some had missing baffles) so I can’t remember if we ever came to a conclusion about the fan swap.

It’s a thread that @Geotrash started and unbeknownst to him, several of us blew it up discussing it along with a multitude of other random topics, amidst poking fun at and bouncing ideas off one another (not unlike this thread). Tread carefully though, as you may get lost among the madness.

I know @Monz11 just put a new one in, but I think she went with the Mishimoto vs the Coldcase that others have recently mentioned. Plus still doing her rebuild she may not have had time to “scientifically” compile data like @Geotrash @Sparksalot @Tonyrodz and @Doubeleive

*also someone recently posted some info/photos about not having to do as much trimming of the radiator cover or fan shroud when installing their aftermarket radiator, but I can’t recall who it was.
Yeah, the new end tanks fit the shroud without modifications. The old end tanks need the shroud to be modified from my experience.

I ended up replacing the driver's side fan motor and blades with the 700w version because I had to pull the radiator for my third cam swap anyway, but it was after all of my towing in the peak of summer, so I didn't have a chance to really analyze how much of a difference it made.

What I can say is that I never had cooling problems at idle with the original fans, but I would see considerable coolant temperature rise on the hills that would slow once the fans kicked up to high on a climb. My expectation is that the 700w fan will stop the temperature rise on a long climb completely but I won't know for sure for a few months yet.

nope, he's finishing up the trans lines and building out the exhaust. I left it when I moved up to North Cackalacky and he is a few weeks out from even starting. Custom hot rod shop, so he is aware of what needs to be done and properly. dyno, tune, program ecu, etc. He'll have it for another month, I think.
I'm heading back to see my ortho doc, tore my labrum, and pulled out the anchor, from previous rotator cuff surgery in June 20, so I'm going to be going back under the knife soon. So, I'm in no hurry to get her back. I mean I am, but I can't drive her back, til I'm fixed.! Frustrated, my season is non-existent this year, but at least I will be fixed and back to training before Paris 2024!!!

I just put a Coldcase in thecopcar. I had it in 2 days from Summit, and it bolted right in. My original burst in the middle of Big Bend after only 203K of break in service. Same tank btw.
203k of break in service-only driven to church and the grocery store on Sunday by a feeble old woman? :D

I see more holes that Swiss cheese in that story sir! :driver:
