The axle housing is not removed or even touch for a rebuild, unless you get a new housing, the rear cover comes off, the wheels and brakes come off, the carrier is removed then the axles are pulled out from the housing. new bearing and seals go back in axles go back in, carrier goes in, brakes and wheels back on. cover back on, fill with gear oil.
Pinion bearings and seals and backlash setting all done in there like that?

My fat ass fell out of the bed overnight and hit the floor. Banged my elbow and back up and nose hit the nightstand on the way down so that was bleeding all over. Lots of fun.

Snuck my wretched ass under the Tahoe and replaced the AC tensioner today. Tight fit into the garage! Part came with this tech bulletin in the box.
