well that's one way to beat the rust, lol

I don't know why I didn't just zip them off with a carbide blade in the first place. I've been soaking the nuts in PB Blaster multiple times a day all week, and they won't budge. I was about to break out the torch and then my brain went, "hey dummy, cut them in half."

Looks like I'm going to have the parts to rebuild the rear diff in the '12 XL Denali (8.6")

If anyone has the torque specs handy, I'm looking for the rotating torque for both pinion and carrier with new bearings.

What I have is:

65 foot pounds for ring gear
60 foot pounds for carrier bearing cap
14-19 inch pounds rotating for new pinion bearing.

Once the carrier shims are snug I will start with .004 on each side additional for preload then check

I believe it's 20-25 inch pounds for the carrier but not sure, which would equate to an additional 5.8-7.3 inch pounds to the pinion rotating torque with a 3:42 axle ratio.

I want to say @swathdiver might have this info.

Anyone feel free to chime in.
Don't know if I'm late to the party...

Wife took it to an "Event" today for work. Actually an Annie Malone back to school event.

We removed the 3rd row and folded down middle row, loaded up a 10x10 pop-up, folding table, a couple chairs, cooler with ice and water, cases of Crest toothpaste, Dove soap, Degree deodorant, Playdough, candy, and school supplies like glue, glue sticks, pencils, markers, paper and notebooks. Plus a big box of Walmart schwag, like water bottles, reusable grocery bags, and squeeze balls.

We got all this stuff from her store for her and a co-worker to hand out. The XL was LOADED almost to the roof all the way to the front seatbacks.

That air pump for the suspension ran for like 30-45 seconds when first started instead of the usual 5-10 second test to level out the rear
