I'm more of a "Forgotten Weapons" type of a guy. ;)

I enjoy the history, and the little "quirks and features" of pews.
I also like my pews to fill in blanks in the overall story of the pew and other pews in my collection.

X2 on motor mount(s). The driver's side would be the one to go first and it would clunk when accelerating forward. Does it not do it if you accelerated lightly? Harder/louder if you accelerate hard?
It does it any type of acceleration. Always from stop. As I stated before in neutral it doesn’t do it. If engine mount was broke it would do it all the time revving it but it does not.

If you have never shot steel targets before, do it.
I can't do paper any longer unless i'm sighting in.

Anything else is just a waste of time and money. :cool:

Even better are the reactive targets, like the dueling tree i have. :boobs:
I have not. I got some relatives in CT that have a range right off their porch. If it wasn’t for COVID we would be heading up there. Only did paper locally. Haven’t been out in a while tho.

I have not. I got some relatives in CT that have a range right off their porch. If it wasn’t for COVID we would be heading up there. Only did paper locally. Haven’t been out in a while tho.

If not for the hoe being broken, i would be headed to the property on this fine day.
I have my old ass luger fully gone through with fresh springs through out.

I have never fired one of these, I always wanted one though. :)
And i have a nice little collection of WW2 and WW1 era pews

The Luger is my first German from that era.

The luger is more of a WW1 era that got caught right during the treaty of versailles where germany was banned from making arms.
So this baby was stamped into military, and then stamped into Police use (one of the few loop holes).

This one has a cool story, and was featured in a book...
Bought this one with the idea of "like silver or gold (investment), but i can take it to the range and enjoy it".

In neutral, you’re not putting any stress whatsoever on the motor mounts. It needs to be in gear to test this.

I got this weird clunk only on accelerating from a stop. Sounds like play in something. Is there anything that’s a known issue to check out?

In addition to motor mounts in gear (under stress), check the driveshaft u-joints and differential yoke for play. Also the driveshaft slip yoke at the transmission might need to be lubed.

Check differential mounting bolts and rear suspension items for tightness.

Actually it wouldn't. These things don't create enough instantaneous torque to jump while unloaded. Open the hood, put it in D, hold the brake hard and goose the throttle. Don't be shy, but don't floor it, either. Watch the engine through the gap between the back (bottom) of the hood and cowl.

Love the feel of a luger in my hands, cool piece, overly complex. My great-grandfather brought home from WW1 a 1914 Broomhandle Mauser that is still in the family and is fired once a year. Fun stuff.
