What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

2012 Yukon, replaced steering rack bushings, had alot of back and forth play, about 1/4" easy.

Out with the old...

Just make sure they are straight before pressing, a few hits with a hammer until they are seated keeping both inline with each other.

Also did the ring bushing at end of rack, OE GM 22960484

Edit to add: There should be some play back and forth, but mine was moving very easily with one tire off the ground, now it takes much more force.

so you guys trucks don't run 210 all the time?


I sware I'm going to try a 180 stat in this thing if I can find a good quality one.

motorad just feels like cheap crap. I built a 170 for the smaller size 2008 and down out of a mahl Nissan 240 stat and and some parts from the oem. but these are bigger and 170 I've seen run as low as 186 on a cold nigh on the interstate, but that's fine for the car. I don't want to go that low in the truck. 195 would seem to be a good temp, I think 180ish stat would get there.


its so annoying gm put the thermostat on the inlet side of engine. ugh. I miss the days of buying a 195 stat and it runs 195 instead of this guessing game.

mine runs about 194 pretty much 24/7 unless I am busting it's ballz up a big mountain in the heat of summer

huh.. looking thru logs mine seems to cycle slowly between 208 and 216 once warmed up around town and that's running the ac so fan settings are basically max the whole time. that's with a new gm stat.

187 is factory. I should find a 178-180. see if it drops about 10deg. it's a 100 outside Temps on the dash already here.

how old is your radiator?, does the temp creep up if you are sitting at a red light?
I have found that this will happen when the radiator get older they just stop working as well as they should.

I believe it is the original radiator. it definitely could be, but it feels controlled, like the cycle of a stat.

hard to say stopped at red-lights since it's almost always in auto stop where electric pumps kick in and circulate the water to avoid heat soak.

I could probably test it by forcing it to idle next time I'm out and about long enough for all the Temps to stabilize.
