I removed the running boards and gave sylvester his first oil change. Only to have to throw in some leftover oil i had lying around and take it to a professional shop to have it removed. The firestone which had been doing this trucks service put the filter on so dam tight i tore it open trying to take it off. Luckly some ductape and only two blocks latter and they were able to remove it. I have been changing my own oil for years and have never had the need to put one on so tight i couldnt remove it with my bare hands. What a frigging ordeal.

Ouch. I think you were lucky to make it there without any damage from oil loss. I wish you were closer; I'd be interested in buying those running boards you don't want!

I rented a MC trailer from UHaul and dragged my motorcycle to the shop for a valve adjustment. I think I rented UHaul's first MC trailer it ever built. I haven't seen such a sorry excuse for a trailer ever.

Just finished replacing the downstream bank 2 O2 sensor. Fired it up and the service engine light is off :) Hopefully it will stay off! Now it's time to upgrade the transmission cooler.

swapped out my alternator that was starting to whine bad. put in a reman from advance auto. super easy, nice and quiet. one problem solved. changed the oil / filter with mobil 1 high milage. hit the zerk fittings on the steering and ball joints with some fresh grease. sprayed up any corrosion spots with rust-oleum rust tough paint. noticed i may have a weepy rear main seal :shakehead: . the lower bell housing cover was a bit wet with oil. it will have to stay that way for a while, i dont notice any puddling on the garage floor yet and dont feel like pulling a trans at the moment.
