Top tier and bottom tier still get their gas from the same terminals here in NY. The truck pulls up gives their account number and gets filled. Never knew a driver to put in the additives and unless they are doing it at the full station I can't see how the additives are getting in.

Sorry forgot to mention I think mobile is the only fill station that has their own dedicated lines and pumps.
When i was 16 I worked at sunoco. I know that when the truck came and filled it was (at the time) 3 seperate fills into 3 seperate tanks. The ultra was 93 with an additive for the 4th tank.

These are expensive vehicles...upwards of $80-$100k many times. worrying about spending a few bucks more per tank seems silly but that's just me. I know going top tier can't hurt and unless it's a nationwide conspiracy then it's nothing but helpful.

I agree. I only fill the highest octane in all of my vehicles. My cars because the LT1s are high cr motors and require it... the esky cause I care about it... lol.

I fuel our 2016 Tahoe with top tier fuels, which in this part of the US means Shell, Chevron/Texaco, 76, Exxon/Mobil and even Costco. So, I no longer refuel at Maverick, Safeway, or Fry's. The mileage is so much better than the previous Tahoe (1996) that the fuel price per mile is about the same.

I feed mine regular, and when I am towing I will but in the high test. But I haven't ever seen or felt a difference and mileage per gallon never changes either.

I fill my Burb with Chevron 89, with a Shell 89 fill once every 5 fills. I take the rig offroad, drive it at sustained high rpms (e.g., Tahoe), don't drive it for a week at a time, and drive it regularly in 100+ degree temps. Hence, I feel better with 89.

I previously had bad experiences with non top tier gas on prior vehicles I've owned that were very finicky with fuel quality - Tuned WRX and Miata, and Cayman; hence, I only trust Chevron and Shell.

What do you guys think about this video^

I agree with them. Unless your vehicle specifically states premium, no need for it.

Unfortunately my Denali calls for it so that's what I feed it. And then of course I use top tier fuel only.
