The VMAX engine is the HIGH OUTPUT 6.0 engine. The regular 6.0s were all LQ4 low compression. Even a 2500hd got the LQ4s.. as well as Denalis... The ** 6.0-LQ9-VMAX ONLY were in AWD escalades and SS, VMAX trucks. They run 93 octane, and are fast as shit. And is the fastest of the family.

Here are the vmax logos, that will replace my Tahoe signs on the side doors.

14city about 18.5hwy and I still need a custom tune on it. But gathering some parts before that.

My truck looks like this.. Old pics, but it sits at that height. 2wd tbars max to level.
Door moldings got to go, but im getting a touch up paint when I do remove them. Grill and bumpers are getting spray black too. Cadillac Diamond Black is the color Im getting. Was thinking red calipers, and red chevy emblem in grill?

Got a steal on it. I was in your same shoes. I was putting a 8.1 in the nbs tahoe. Did tons of research I can save you time. VMAX is WAY faster. 8.1 is better if towing, parts are hard to get and expensive as hell. VMAX gets way better mileage too. All in stock form. 8.1 VS Vmax, the Vmax is quicker. Duramax VS Vmax, max is quicker still. Tune the Duramax, say BYE Vmax.

Put a cam in the VMAX and make 500hp easily. Heck stock engine with a good tune is around 390hp with tons of torque. You will need a built tranny for either, IMO.

I would choose the 6.0 over the 8.1 any day, that being lq4 or lq9. They are just quicker LS motors.

390 at the flywheel maybe..a cammed 6.0 with longtubes and shit recently dynoed around 400 rwhp..that 500 hp mark would be needing some type of forced induction..a 5.3 with a cam, headers and a whipple dynoed at about 390 hp...

plans sound good though...just dont expect that much power..i have the 6.0 in my tahoe and sure its faster, but not fast by any means..get a good converter and a built trans and that will help..cam it with headers and be around 400 hp and be good to go

Yes. The top end on the LQ9 just cant compare to the LQ4 IMO. It pulls crazy uptop. Low end is somewhat similar, but top end, LQ9 will leaves a LQ4 back there easy. Nothing to sneeze about until I put a 116lsa cam in it with a TVS tho. Other wise, stock.

What size tire do you guys recommended by the way? 295/45/20 is what I thought, but maybe I should go smaller? I want something wide that will look good on my truck at that height in my pic.

I got to stop modding this one, because my wife is waiting on hers. Looking for a white one. But I will need tires first; Im, looking at 295-45-20s but still doing lots of research on tires. Im not trying to slow this thing any or regear, so I may even do a 275 something, got to look at more pics.

No that is NOT correct. The Denali has a LQ4. The only "DENALI" that got the lq9 was the pickup truck version similar to the Chevy SS. It was the only GMC with the LQ9 engine. All Yukon Denali, etc were all LQ4 buddy. A Escalade will BURN a Denali especially on the top end. Ask me why, I know, cause I have personally witnessed it.

One question, is your truck 4x4?

No its a 2wd truck, wanted a 2wd badly. My truck sits perfectly level, and looks sporty as hell. Sits lower than a 4x4 truck. On the streets alot will say yea its a 4wd, cause it sits so level.

This is for you guys to see how she looks.

Again, only the Ecalade 01-06 had the LQ9, and also it had to have been the AWD version. The 2wd Escalades had the 5.3. The Chevy SS trucks had the LQ9 as well, 06-07 being the VMAX package. The GMC pickup Denali, came with the LQ9. All other Denalis were the LQ4 engine. Lq9s are a dime a dozen, Lq4s are plentiful. But its good deals all over the place if you know what to look for.

Just curious, b/c i dont know, what engine is in your tahoe? Vmax, but the lq9 or the lq4 i guess thats right. Just wondering b/c one day i would like to change the engine something with more pep, little to slow for me, no pickup. Vmax sounds awesome, or just a 6.0, i read somewhere that the 6.0 is a plug and play sort of..

I have a LQ9 better known as the VMAX. Get the VMAX (LQ9), its the 6.0 ** (HIGH OUTPUT version)
The LQ4 (LOW compression) is a 6.0 standard engine, that makes less power than the LQ9. But still a very good upgrade IMO, it will do trick for you.
