What exactly, do the vent caps, vent?

What’s the purpose of the vent caps? Took mine off and cleaned all the crude out.
What are they venting, and would putting smooth caps on, prevent them from doing their intended job?

They are there to relief the cabin pressure so your doors are easy to open I believe. I am changing to the esky ones personally

You have those little rubber flaps under the plastic vents, so they'll still do what they're intended to do, even with the Esky caps. Those are vented too.

The rubber ones underneath also vent the vehicle when you have the A/C or heat on..(it's where all the farts go, hence all the crud )
The cosmetic ones on the outside probably help a bit, I don't imagine that putting the smooth covers on would affect airflow tremendously

The smooth ones(Esky) have 1 large vent.

some people block them off entirely to get more SPL, but it would probably be more annoying than what it's worth.
the smooth vents are just part of that extra $10K you have to pay for the escalade level trim ON THE SAME DAM TRUCK, lol
