just picked up a '99 denali, 5.7L. have searched forums, google, & a few retailers, in particular summit & 4 wheel parts. answers are....ambiguous at best.
so, WHAT exactly is a 1999 denali?
this is what i'm looking for-
*4" steel cowl hood
*LED tailights-anything other then anzo 311004 (don't care for the dark outline, would prefer gray, chrome/stainless, to better fit the gray paint scheme, but will settle for what i can get)
*LED headlights-just something to spiff up the front/replace the 15 year old pitted plastic housings
*grill.....& an emblem....gmc/yukon/denali....custom if i must, but that grill...
*lift....2" or so. truck has 285/60-18 nitto terra grapplers on it. they fit fine, but just an extra couple inches would be nice :worship: sorry

so.....what i've been told is....there is no 4" cowl hood for a '99 denali? after finding nothing on their website, i spent 30 minutes on the phone with summit, back & forth with 3 different people who said....yes it fits, no it doesn't, the chevy XXXX hood fits...no, wait, you need the 2000 gmc NOT denali hood....no wait, you need the escalade hood....no wait, there isn't one for '99...wait 2000 escalade hood fits 99 denali....no.....& that went on for a half hour. so....is there a 4" cowl hood for a '99 denali???

the lighting went no better....they told me there is NO tailight assembly for the '99 denali....but amazon & anzo both say the 311004 fits my truck...the only thing summit says is out there for a '99 denali is....replacement bulbs. no head- or tailight assemblies. ok. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH :)

lift....well, i was told there is NO WAY 285/60-18's will fit on my stock truck. ok. i don't know, that's why i asked. so MAYBE the front end was cranked up....maybe not, ride is like a cadillac, with a pronounced rake-well, slightly noticeable at least-as in stock. i just wanna know....is there a 2" lift for it?

grill....i faired no better in what fits & what doesn't....billet is fine, mesh, maybe, unless i can find something 'different'?

i've had a '97 chevy 1500 & '99 tahoe. the '97 was straightforward, some 2000 truck stuff fit the '99 tahoe, but it wasn't all that bad. i am just not having luck confirming what does or does not fit a '99 denali??? so....what exactly is it :wtf:?

help?

basically it is a luxury version of the yukon. tail lights should fit. a 2 inch lift for a tahoe or yukon should be able to fit yours it is the body panels that are different. might look at the anzo catalog for better headlight assemblies. might be able to find inserts for the grill. don't think the hood idea will work tho.

I wouldn't go for a 4 inch cowl on a Denali If I'm honest . they are really nice trucks . as a matter of fact I like the stock hood better on those just my .02 cents

Thanks....i think....any more suggestions?

Cuz.....today i stopped by my local gmc dealership....the parts guy has confused me even more. He spoke of a gm strike in 1998 that caused some late '98's to be labeled as 99's. However, i'm not sure how that caused any problems cause the body style changed in '00. So.....he continued, the 'late' '99 DENALI uses '00 body panels around a 5.7l '99 engine. So i asked, would that make a 'late' '99 DENALI an 'obs' or 'nbs', which he had earlier mentioned....'obs' he said. AHHHHHHHHHH!!!! If it uses '00 body panels, hhow can you call it 'nbs'????? He said a 2000 gmc or chevy hood fits a 'late' '99 DENALI.

So is HE nuts, or just trying to make ME nuts???

tahoe had a 200 obs model carryover called the limited. your manufacture date when the truck left the line in printed on the sticker along with the vin on your driver door or door jamb.

Way ahead of you-thays why i asked here. You're answer wasn't any better then what i've already gotten.

I guess that's because I'm somewhat confused on what your question is. a 99/00 Denali is essentially the same (or at least very similar) to that of the other GMT400 Tahoes and Yukons. The front clip and body cladding is the biggest different on the exterior. For the interior the only difference is the center console and the two tone leather but that is shared also by the Limited (and I think Z71) of that same year. I had a '99 denali for a few years before we got our burb. When ordering mechanical parts some times i just ordered parts that were for a '98 Tahoe to avoid any confusion as they are exactly the same.

Does this help at all?

99-00 Denali and Esky are both OBS most parts 96+ will fit minus some of the body parts that are 99-00 Denali/Esky like front and rear bumper, grille and misc trim
