wow, the price went up significantly with the bigger size. the bigger size is a nice option, but they should also keep the 1 3/4s around. guys with major mods and/or boost would get more benefit out of the larger headers. motors with just the bolt ons would prob make more usable power with the 1 3/4s

the headers wouldnt need to be coated, although coating would help. im sure they have the 02 sensor bungs, but not sure about the cats. if i run some headers, ill prob go without cats anyways

I been looking into shorties or long tubes myself, my question is I have a billy boat cat back that adaptes into duals, now if i got long tubes it looks to replace all of this and comes out a 3inch single ... So would it be restrictive to use a 3 inch y into the factory size dual pipes to use same muffler and after the muffler it goes back to a single after a foot or so. just seems like a pain in the ars to do this. specially with no cats cause shops in my area wont touch a truck with no cats...

I assume easiest way is to cut out my muffler and use a new one and 3 inch in and out and connect to the remaining tail piece... what a waste of a cat back system haha

you guys running no cats do you need emission testing??

srt, this is the problem with the 6.o motors, they run the dual exhaust. what ive been thinking about doing is running the headers to an aftermarket y. you can get a 3.5" y and run simgle 3.5" exhaust. but since you already have the exhaust, u may need to look into specific denali/escalde headers. or you could sell your cat back and run something different. fwiw, i heard the new 6.2 truck have a 3.5" in/out muffler.

as for the cats, no one should mind working on it without but they may mind testing it. you can remove the check engine light with a tune, so it WILL pass emissions, but the guy doing the test is suppose to do a visual inspection. thats where you need a friend... or a lazy guy too busy eating a hotdog to look under the vehicle

the calspeed joins in to a single thats 3.5 inch so i need to find another exhaust y thats 3.5 to whatever stock is 2.5? to use my remaining catback system.... so would it be dumb to run the calspeed set from 3.5 into dual 2.5s in out of muffler then it goes to single 3"?

I would need this but 3.5 inch throat

American Racing Headers are the best you can get, they cost more than most but you get what you pay for. I'll be getting them for my TBSS soon. Also, getting 1 7/8" headers will cost your power unless you are supercharged or making a ton of HP that needs the extra flow.
