What is the chance that GM would fix the vibration/buffeting issue in 2017 models?

I can't for the life of me figure out what the buffeting issue is? I've test driven 7 2016 Yukon Denali XLs at highway and city streets and can't duplicate anything that sounds like an open rear window?

What am I missing. I'm driving the actual vehicle we'll be taking signing and taking home on Saturday morning. Is there a specific way to drive it to get this late model 2016 to duplicate the buffeting sound?

It may not have it.

Best chance to hear is between 20-50 mph and let the v4 kick in and out. That seems to exacerbate the issue for some.

Obviously keep the radio off.

that will cause it to some degree but that's not what folks are referring to. The vibration/drone due to the V4 mode doesn't bother me as much as I know what it's doing. The buffeting vibrating is different. it's a strong pressure feeling where it almost makes your head hurt in addition to the slight buffeting sound. I believe the V4 mode only adds to it as I would get buffeting while in manual mode (4th/5th gear) and when putting truck in "N" and coast at certain speeds.

I dont think it will be cured until the next rendition. If you were to read this forum, 80% of people with K2XX have the issue. Out in the wild, I wonder what the real number is. We see very few people who have ever complained about it, and we sell a shit ton of Tahoes.

Good question...I am amazed there aren't more complaints on this board but at the same time this section is rather slow with activity in general and many on here have the short wheel base. My dealer was clueless (to their credit they only sell about 10 per year) about it and never heard of it until the engineer showed up as he was fully aware of it and filled them in. He had an entire work sheet of things they've attempted to do to fix the issue. Said they've been working with many dealers across the country with the issue. I stopped and talked to another local GMC dealer and they didn't know much but did say they had a few buybacks due to ride quality (whatever that means.) And like I've said, many folks don't notice it...whether their body is not susceptible to it or they just aren't aware of ride issues in general.

The best example is my own family. 3 kids ages 11, 8, and 5. The 11 and 5 yr never complained of anything while my 8yr old could hear it and would complain of feeling sick with pressure and headache. I experience the same while my wife didn't notice a damn thing. This was all before getting it somewhat resolved. I was ready to trade in for a '16 after a few short months with the 15 until I drove a few new ones and they all did the same. I am still waiting to drive an xl/burb that drives perfect off the lot.

I miss spoke.

We've been driving our new 2016 Yukon Denali XL for a while now. At 1000 miles, I now hear booming.

Like a low subwoofer bass.

It's prominent at 41 mph and 71 mph, although I hear it at all speeds when I hit bumps. The rougher the road the more noticeable.

Just sounds like some sheet metal wobbling and booming.

My wife doesn't notice it. I do.

The truck vibrating seems to make it worse. But there's I buffering. A low frequency bass booming.

I think I screwed up. Crazy we drove like 7-8 of them none had including this one. Now 100 miles later, I wonder something metal loosens up over time.

The dealer is going to RFB the wheels once more time on a different machine. If this third RFB doesn't work, they plan to meet my demand of installing Michelins.

I wonder if the crappy tires on 22"s are causing it, or if the exhaust is vibrating. I read someone had the booming fixed by adding damper to the exhaust.

This sucks. Help? I'm into now at 1000 miles.

2015 Tahoe (December 2014 Build). I have 70K miles and haven't noticed this at all. I drive 45K a year. We have two other 2015 Tahoe's and a 2016 Suburban in our company's fleet and no one has this issue. I am due up for a new one come January and plan on ordering GM product (not sure if it will be a Tahoe, Sub, or Yukon/XL)

I suspect your roof bows came undone as you drove the car, nothing you could have predicted from the test drive

IIRC GM has "pulled" the roof fix, as it was coming undone again and think they have given up

They will likely deal with this on an individual basis until the next full redesign
