What kind of hitch are you using? How much rise?

I need to buy a hitch assembly/ball pretty soon to trailer my sisters car back to IL.

I ask because i used to have an 05 yukon and my dad had an '10 tahoe.
We had to swap hitches when moving my stuff/car out to PA.

The newer tahoe had a much taller mount and needed more drop than the 2" one he was using and I happen to have a 4" rise he ended up using.

Now that I have an 08 HyHoe(I assume the Hybrid has the same height mount as all others?) I'm wondering what everyone else is using to tow?

I believe our ass sits 1/2" to 1" lower from factory compared to non-hybrid hoes.

Might be worth a google to confirm.

Just measured mine.

Looks like 21 3/4" to the bottom of the square opening.

Any one else care to measure yours and compare?

I wonder what normal trailers normally like to be at height wise?

On my 2010 Tahoe (NOT a hybrid), I use a Reese Towpower 21794 towing draw bar (5 1/4" drop; 4" rise) with a Reese 7011300 2" stainless steel hitch ball. You can get them at Lowe's Home Improvement, or if you want to save some money, try Amazon.com.

From ground level to the bottom of the square opening on my Tahoe, it's 21 1/4". But I have a Tuffy Security Products Chevy Tahoe Tactical Gear Security Drawer where the third row seats used to be. It and what's in it probably add 350 pounds to the back of my vehicle, so that probably accounts for some of the difference in our measurements.

I leave the Reese stuff on my Tahoe at all times. Looks good, and it pulls a 21 foot Triton bass boat at just the right height! :)

I used a 2" drop on my 02 Yukon but I also had to go to the Reese 5 1/4" drop on my 2011 Tahoe LTZ. The LTZ has the autoride which levels the rear for the load. It also pulls my Triton 21 foot bass boat nice and level.

I thought I had seen you over on the BBC boards. I go by HighFiveBassin over there. I haven't been there in a while. I spend to much time on this and other forums as it is.

The first time I heard the Tahoe use that Autoride feature when I was hooking up the Triton's trailer, I turned around to the Tahoe and said: :mfr_omg: :wtf2: :whymewhyme:

I thought the Tahoe was falling apart. :roflsquared:

Draw bar drop

I use a 6" drop draw bar for pulling our 2002 Mastercraft Prostar 205V with a tandem axle trailer. At this height the trailer is nice and level and keeps equal pressure on each axle.
