What to do with 97 tahoe?

hey i just joined i have a red 97 tahoe thats pretty much stock. im looking for ideas on what to do to it...thinkin maybe a little lift and new tires and rims...just dont know what? any ideas?? on a small budget

Many people have said that a 3" BL is the way to go for a cheap lift. You could always crank the tortion bars up a couple inches in the front and throw some 2" lift blocks in the back for a mild lift. Anything bigger than that it's going to get close to 2 grand if you have the auto-trac push button 4x4 like I do.

I'm running 285/70/17 Terra Grapplers with the keys cranked a bit and I think it looks tough as hell. You could always get some newer body style used rims on the cheap if you want. Check out my album pics if you want to see what mine looks like.

Lots of mods you can do on the cheap:

pull the trim off and debadge, makes for a real clean look
color match things like bumpers, mirrors, pilars
remove running boards
Crank the torsion bars up a little to bring the front end up and get an alignment afterwards
A good detailing

not so cheap items:
different tires and wheels, a huge mod that instantly changes the way a truck looks
a body lift can be purchased for a couple hundred bucks, get the gap guards
suspension lift is $1000 and requires some work...great results though
custom bumpers or roll pan

i really like yours...thats pretty much what i would like mine to look like...my brother in law put like 3" on his and it was like $300 so thats probly the way im gunna go...just dont know what rims would look good on it
