What tranmission do I have?

I have a 99 Tahoe 4WD LS. What transmission do I have? I tried to see if there was a tag on it but no luck. Thanks

actually data is typically stamped on casing, right side near the rear just above pan mating surface for a 4l60e. farther forward for the 4l80e.

4l60e is assuming you are a gas engine.

in that case if you have an auto 4wd push button system your t-case is a nv/np-246.
