The tensioner was replaced by the dealer when I purchased it. That and the idler pulley too. Id assume the belt isnt too big as it recently started making this noise over the past week and its been a month or so since put on. Firestone put the belt on when they figured out the other belt was messed up even though it was new.

Funny I noticed today it seems a lot of vehicles around here have the same time squeal when they are turning in parking lots. Quite a few of them Chevys.

Not sure if its the same squeal you have but mine squeals like crazy in parking lots when turning hard but it obviously the tires. They sound like their under inflated but their not. I'm hoping new tires soon will quiet it down.

Not sure but soon Ill have new tires and rims so at least that will tell me something. I did notice outside wear on both tires worse than inside for the fronts. Wonder if the toe being out on both would have anything to do with it.

my comment / then my question

first, some vehicles will have tight enough turn radius ( not circumference, just over steering of the tires..think locker) that when turning the tire actually has to slip on the pavement to complete the action. this causes the tire to squeak or squeal...jeep do this a lot.

my question...
I have an 07 Yukon XL with 81.000 on the clock, to day I notice that it has a squeak sound ( similar to a bad control arm bushing moving up and down ), but only when the tire rotates ( rear ), it is noticeable on both sides but I have not been able to diagnose.

any thoughts ????

I plan to lift the rear , check bearing and place in gear to locate, hopefully something simple, but any leads would be greatly appreciated.
