I just picked up a new to me escalade. And I'm going back and forth between the 4dtech auto stop start delete and the carbyte. I'm not sold on the AFM deletes extending life of motors but I definitely want to get rid of the start/stop.

price wise is negligible to me since its a diff in 50 bucks.

The advantage of the carbyte is that I don't have to take apart any panels. The 4d tech I have to take off about 3 panels and lift the center console and risk breaking clips.

'Disable' just turns off a feature that can be reactivated. 'Delete' physically removes the feature.
Disabling AFM / DFM is far cheaper than taking the engine apart to physically remove it.
(Luckily deleting Start / Stop is pointlessly redundant, disabling the feature is enough.)

Not only does AFM / DFM disable help the engine last longer, it helps the Torque Converter Clutch last longer too,
so the transmission lasts longer between rebuilds.

Range also makes both of these types of devices. I’d turn off both if you’d getting one either way. Turning auto start/stop off hasn’t really been as big of a deal as I thought it would be. After I push the button to start the truck I reach over to turn auto start off. Just takes my old brain a bit to create a new habit.
