so i finally decided to go look at an 04 yukon xl denali with 115k on it for 10k. my suv search went this way after pursuing an 06 jeep commander but the deal fell apart due to a slimeball used car dealer (hate them all). anyhow , i was hot on the commander due to it being able to fit inside a standard 2 car garage. my house was built in 91 and has some nice space, but the entry stpes bite into the length. one would think in 1991 , builders would have recognized the trend towards large suv's!
it will kill me to keep this thing outside escpecially when i have a good garage, so it lead me to ask you all how many folks get to keep their indoors.

will update you on the purchase if it happens tomorrow. im lookng to trade my 09 chevy hhr ss

Mine was built in 1912 couldn't fit before I lowered her. Now that she's dropped I just make it. I plan on making the entrance bigger in the future though

What are the measurements of your garage? Garage door height?

followup on the yukon

Silly question......did you measure the garage space in question?

Here are the specs of the vehicle you are looking at: http://autos.yahoo.com/gmc/yukon-xl-denali/2004/all-wheel-drive/specifications.html

Grab a tape measure ;)

ha , yes of course i did. that is what raised the question... i couldnt believe i coudlnt be able to squeeze it in. its the steps leading into the house that would obstruct. i could get a 17-1/2 foot vehicle in if needed.

anyhow , i saw the 04 yukon today. looked really clean from the outside, white which is what i was looking for. interior had some wear on the wheel , small rip in the typical area on driver seat cushion, the center console flip up covers were a bit of a mess. all in all the leather looked good. needed a good interior detail , possibly a smoker car. so i start it up , no wierd noises from the motor... then my heart sank. "service ride system" came up. also , the front seat moved itself all the way forward until the stop after taking the key out. i didnt hear a compressor starting when i fired her up. any ideas on what could be the ride system ailment in this case? the dealer may be willing to work on it. i told them that this kind of thing would scare away 99% of potential buyers. would the seat thing be a failed memory module or something?
