Why is there no underhood light in a Tahoe?

^^this....and I've heard of people modifying their rides to incorporate the under hood light but does that little light ever actually help you out when it's truly dark outside?? IMO the light is always in the exact wrong spot so who cares about a little under hood light.

Dang! I'm off the thread for almost a day and the bullets are flying. All over the two -- count 'em TWO -- useful underhood lights my 1995 Chevy pickup has and my 2010 Tahoe doesn't.

All I'm doing is pointing out things that have gone ****! from GM vehicles that are useful, and World War III breaks out. I may have to start another of these "Why" topics. I do have a list, you know.

Huh? My Z71 Tahoe came with what I would call pretty aggressive Bridgestone

snow tires. I think they are labeled as M&S, too lazy to walk outside and look.
