Wind noise on highway for Yukon Denali

I know we are in different vehicles, but even in our Denali HD with the duramax you cannot hear anything inside the cab.

Are you sure you weren't hearing the cooled seat fan? I know that thing can tend to get loud.

Agree on this. The other day I was hearing something and couldn't figure it out... Turned out the be the cooled seat fan.

hmm.. awkward. These vehicles have some sort of noise-cancellation device in them now.

Like I said, our Denali with the Duramax clackin on the highway in a windy SouthFL day and I don't even hear the engine, wind noise, or the kids in the backseat.

Strange indeed...

These trucks don't really compare to car based crossovers. If you don't need the truck capability I'm not sure why you would buy one.

I'd rather drive with the windows down all the time then drive anything with a CVT (QX80) and the Q7 is an 8 year old dated design (just traded in an '07)... If you want a 7 passenger crossover I would be looking at a highlander or durrango or maybe a MB GL (not really a crossover... But still). Those are the class leaders in that space IMHO.

Most every review I have read about these trucks has commented on how quiet they are and my personal experience backs that up.

QX80 doesn't have a CVT. I believe you're thinking of the QX60.

Main reason I want one of these is because I want something with a good V8. The GL is an option, but it's very pricey. Given the state of things today, I think V8s will become rarer and rarer going forward so I want one before it's too late. In fact, I read that the '15 GL450 will go to a 3.0L turbo. It'll reportedly make 362hp and 406tq but my guess is that it won't have the effortless driving quality we associate with a V8.

Sorry... You are right. The QX 80 is the perfect denali competitor! But, I bet the forum isn't as good! Haha

We have had 2015 SLT for about three weeks. It's the wife's so I haven't drive. Much. Had it all day yesterday and noticed it as soon as I got up to around 70 mph. It's coming thru driver door area and sounds like I have the window cracked just a bit. It goes away at lower speeds but it very distracting at cruising speed.

I have 2015 Suburban LT and I as we'll I hear a noise once the truck get to 60-70 mph and it sounds like it's coming from the back of the truck like if something was open.

I thought this was an issue too with my Yukon, but I realized I only heard it when the cooled seats were on, and there is moderately loud fans that pump out heat in the back when those are on. So if your cooled seats are on that's what you are hearing.

My Denali XL is wisper quiet........ until you uncork that 6.2L!

The A/C seat fan is a bit noisy though!
