hello, new to forum, like a lot of the trucks i see on here. Recently picked up a 2011 LTZ w/ CK375 wheels. I picked up some Nissan Armada 20" rims at a reasonable price to spare the chrome rims from the abuse of winter roads as i travel up north quite a bit and snowboard as much as I can find time. Was also looking for a tire with a bit more aggressive tread for those months and settled on Nitto Crossteks as i got a great deal w/ Merchents tire buy 2 get 2 promotion. I like the way they look but was contemplating painting them as i have some black and charcoal paint left over from repair and collision work on 2 previos viehicles. looking for some input

more aggressive looking than stock tires, the lugs on the sidewall go well with the wheels (I think).

and this is the charcoal color have a quart of and am considering. It is this paint code but a shade or two darker in person than this photo

I say if it is your winter rims go and get some Plasti dip and spray them. That is the best way to do it IMO without doing powder coating.

thanks, I like them a lot more than I thought I would. The paint i have is PPG urethane base coat, would just need to decided charcoal VS black. gloss Vs matt clear coat. Or just leave them as is and move on to the next project.

I am leaning towards black with gloss clear, but not sure how that would look with all the chrome on this truck

Welcome Roy! That's a beautiful ride you got there! I am going to get a set of those CK375's for my Avalanche in the near future and still contemplating whether I want to sell my factory 20's or keep them as "Winter wheels" (I'm moving to Colorado this month from Louisiana!). I also love snowboarding and have been planning at least 1-2 trips every year for a while now.... now i'm moving 1.5 hours away from Winter Park so i'm stoked!!! I personally say leave the Armada 20's that color since you have chrome trim I don't know how black rims would look on it :/

thanks for the welcome. I recently moved further from skiing/snow boarding for work, i wouldn't mind being 1.5 hrs away from winter park. I would hold onto the OEMs if i were you. winters out there can be rough, and a few seasons of winter abuse can be ******* a chrome rim.

I will probably end up not painting these as they seem to mesh well with all the chrome, if I start blacking some of that chrome out, maybe i will at that point...... I stuck some Chevy logos on the center caps this morning and will call it a day for now.
