In other news, my 8,000 lumen Voukes came in today. I swapped out the driver side, and I'm going to leave it that way so I can do a nighttime comparison. I already know I'll be switching the passenger side though. And soon, the high beams as well ;-)

Eta: for clarification, the passenger side is still stock in the pics, and will be just until I get some nighttime comparison pics ;-)

Yesterday I finally finished installing my front-facing camera. Installed a push-button momentary switch that allows me to cycle through the front-facing camera, the backup camera, and the stock radio/nav screen.

Pardon all the weeds in and around the driveway. No excuses. I've neglected it.

The video feeds have a lot of electrical "noise" that I've determined is from the cheap RCA being combined with the power wire. So, until I want to run separate RCAs and power wires, I'll just deal with the lines on the screen. If I can't make time to stay on top of flower bed maintenance, I'm not going to worry about less than perfect parking views. Lol.

I also got my 3.5mm aux plug put in the dash. I haven't wired it up to the XM receiver yet. May get to that later today. Not a big priority, but since I was dremeling it a hole for the video switcher, figured I'd go ahead and get the Aux jack in there.

How do you do it?? Awesome job.

It's in the top center hole of the grille honeycomb. I'll get out there and get some pics of it here in a little bit.

I'm probably only working on the car so much right now so I can avoid yardwork and projects around the house.

I've got to get up in the attic to install a new bathroom fan/light, which I already *just* did, but the light intermittently doesn't work, so I've got to swap it out AGAIN. Plus run some 12/3 wiring down to the switch so we can control the light and fan separately. I hate getting up in the attic in this heat, so I'm procrastinating. Who needs light to shower, right? Lol.

And I need to finish painting the bathroom, sealing the tile I just put in, finish the last bit of the trim work, ugh.

Recently bought a gable fan to put in the attic so it'll hopefully stay a little cooler up there. Not looking forward to installing that.

Got a shed I need to put together for out back. Yeah, it's just too dang hot.

In-ground basketball goal for the kids...same, too hot.

Need to remove a tree from our 6' tall chain link fence. Nope, not happening until it's cooler.

Basically, I've got a million and one things I should be getting done, but it's just so much more fun to work on the car. Lol.

Thanks. I do what I can. Raising these 5 kids is a job in and of itself for sure! But I wouldn't trade it for the world

Here's where the front facing camera is (and you can see how awful the plastidip looks close-up as a result of my efforts to fix a small problem turning it instead into a big problem )

The camera placement was really simple (it's actually been in place for weeks while I put off wiring it up, lol). I just drilled a couple small holes in the recessed part of the grille and used a small zip tie to hold it in place. The distance between the top hole in the honeycomb and the recessed part of the grille worked out perfectly for the type of camera I got and it's dimensions. A different camera might require a slightly different install. I liked that this method required very little modification to the car. No drilling big holes like if I put it in the bumper.
