Hey guys, I have access to a complete full working motor from a 2008 corvette Z06 with only 74,000km on it. its an LS7 7.0L V8. Does anyone know how much it will take to get it going in my truck? Im assuming the wiring harness is going to be the hardest part, but then again in not use to working with something this new, Ive only ever dealt with the simplest of wiring, carbureted haha, or better yet what is your opinion on doing that? I have a 1996 2 door tahoe, that came with a 5.7

that motor would be sick in a hoe.. i give it 35 seconds on dry pavement wot before you blow the tranny in your truck.. its going to take alot of research on your part and or money.

It's certainly doable, the wiring and computer controls will be the hardest part. All that said, it can be done and it will be a blast.

You'll need a stand-alone harness. The 60E will not hold up, so I'd upgrade to a BUILT 80E or a Manual Swap (NV4500 or a T56). You'll need a tune (blackbear performance or another similar tuner). Exhaust will need to be built, and so on.

There's a ton of things you'll need to learn about LSx Conversions before you'd even attempt this. I'd start by searching for what you'll need to swap everything over.

No but being the nice guy I am I will trade you a 5.3

In all seriousness your tranny won't hold up so you would need to run a beefier tranny.

I don't think it's as hard as it sounds. All GM LS engines are along the same lines. It's been done before.

Thanks guys!! apparently I need to learn up on this one a lot more before i even look at that corvette. Has anyone one here ever attempted or seen it or know someone who has done something like this? Im assuming (once again) that is would be called something like a OBS LSx swap? or am I out in left field again? Any suggestions on where to start? maybe theres a book on it? I have used the one for the s10 trucks when doing a V8/LS1 swap.
