    01TahoeNJN's complete custom build

Got a write up on what you did for your tail lights? I like them a lot and want to do that to mine.:)

    2006 Tahoe Z71 4x4

What haven't you had done for a long time? Here's a general list in no particular order. You may, or may not need to do these things. Brake system flush. (If you kind of understand how a hydraulic braking system works, then you know that brake fluid is pressurized every time you depress the...

rattle coming from engine when A/C on

Curious why it needs a new accumulator? The only thing I know of that could cause them to be bad is if it was leaking. I could be wrong though?

AC only blows cold when moving

I'd say check your fan clutch or for a bunch of junk blocking airflow through your condenser. Both easy checks. For the condenser, all you have to do is pull the bumper filler (the black thing held on by 7 push pins at the top of your radiator) and look at the front and rear of the condenser. If...

    Tires

Thanks for the input guys. Got a scheduled appointment at the tire shop tomorrow. (I work at what is probably the only dealership that doesn't mount tires lmao) May have to wash up the hoe and get a pic taken with the new tires for the forum sometime this weekend. Also installing a kicker 12"...

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

I cleaned all the bugs and hairy looking nasty gunk out of my condenser. A/C blows 8 degrees cooler now. :)

    2001 yukon still not running!!!

Would that kon have a camshaft position sensor? If so, I think there'd be a code if there was a fault with the crank sensor. Not totally sure though.

    Tires

Luckily, when I go back to school in October, one of the classes that we're taking is steering, suspension, and alignment. So, after I get some new tires, I'll get an alignment for free. (or at least know how to do one, so I can do it for myself back at the dealership haha) I have looked at...

01 Front brake pad wear verses Rear.

My dad has a 1998 Chevrolet Venture van with 316,xxx miles on it. It's old and falling apart, but the front brake pads that were on it when he bought the van (around 60-70k miles) are still around 50%. Unbelievable, isn't it? haha

    Fuel compensation sensor question

I haven't actually ever seen one, so I'm not sure if that's it. But I'd ask them if they tried resetting the sensor. There's a function on the scan tool to do it, and it takes less than 5 mins. Had one in the shop this morning that was reading E10 89 octane fuel at 71% alcohol content. All I had...

Oil Pressure below 40 at idle

Rule of thumb is 10psi oil pressure for every 1000 rpm ;) Also, Buick used to have an oil pressure problem with one of their engines (can't recall which one for sure) back in the 50's or 60's where pressure would drop to 5 psi at idle, but would be at 40 psi at cruising speed. Funny enough...

    2001 yukon still not running!!!

Pull the vacuum line off of your FPR. If fuel drips from the vacuum line, then you need a new FPR. An intake leak would have to be pretty bad to cause it to die, but it could also be the problem?

    Starting issues 2000 Tahoe 5.3L 110,00 miles

You can check the FPR by pulling the vacuum line off of it. If fuel drips from the line, then you've definitely just found your problem. Good Luck ;) Otherwise, before condemning a CKP or CMP sensor, you could check what your actual fuel pressure reading is with a fuel guage. I believe it...

    Tires

Those Michelin's were actually what I originally wanted to get about a month ago. Unfortunately though, my college budget won't allow it. Thinking real hard about these Coopers, because I can get a set of four for just over 600 bucks. There's only one shop around here that sells Michelin's, and...

The benefits of correct air pressure

GM has a bulletin out stating it's views on using nitrogen to fill tires. #05-03-10-020C: Use of Nitrogen Gas in Tires - (Apr 27, 2010) [This one's in SI under a 2011 Canyon, but it's pretty generic.] In the first paragraph, it says they don't oppose the use of nitrogen in tires, but the...

    Tires

I have a 2002 Tahoe with 265/70/R16 tires. It's about time for new tires, and a local store has a buy three get one free deal on a set of Cooper AT3 or ATR tires. Anybody have a set of these on their vehicle?

    Fuel compensation sensor question

Are they sure it's a problem with the sensor? I've seen several of them in the shop where the sensor has just needed to be reset. Are there any rich DTC's? Or am I thinking of the completely wrong part? haha I'm thinking of the sensor that calculates the alcohol content of the fuel.

rattle coming from engine when A/C on

We had a newer suburban come into the dealership a couple of weeks ago with a similar problem. May not be the exact same sound, but the root cause of the complaint on that particular vehicle was a transmission dipstick tube that was barely touching the ac lines into the evaporator core. Most...

    Bowtie color!

I say black with a white outline as well. It'd look pretty sweet IMO.
