I believe the switches are part of or attached to the door latches in the door. I had the same issue and sprayed some WD40 in and around the latch. Haven't had an issue in the last 6 months.
This is why I should not read all these posts. I thought I was almost done with mods. I never thought of led lights under the running boards connected to the puddle lights......
Failure of the window regulators is common on these vehicles. I have replaced both front regulators on mine. If you can test for voltage at the motor while you have it opened up that would help you pinpoint the issue.
Not too bad of a job nor $$$ if that's the problem.
Good luck and let us know...
I just used the suction cup mount, but removed the suction cups and replaced them with high strength double stick tape. Mounted it right beneath the head liner. It sits behind the dark band on the windshield and is hard to see from the outside.
This is my solution for mounting a backup camera monitor and several aux switches and remote radar detector unit. Took quite a bit of work, not real hard just time consuming. Best of all, not real expensive.
Agree totally. Mine had been repaired once under warrantee. I took the opportunity to send mine out to have the transmission temp gauge added. Lights and stepper motors upgraded life time warranty. All for around $200. Gone for about a week, but vehicle is useable without the cluster. No...
Really, what year? On my 04, the head/dash lights come on wither the parking brake is on or off. Doesn't make sense that they would only come on with the parking brake off.

On a side note, does anyone know how to clean the heater core exterior? I imagine the fins a probably pretty clogged up after 12 years. Something the cabin air filter...
I guess Searay and I know we need a constant hot wire for the glove box light but are hoping someone can point out a wire near the switch, or preferably the wire used for the switch in the earlier models.
Ok, after reading all this, I ordered a light for the glove box. My question,is where to pick up power for it? Any input is greatly appreciated. Once done this will be one of the less expensive mods......lol
Marty, are you doing the install?
I'm looking to do the same, but just recieved a quot of $625 plus tax, labor only.
Giving serious consideration of doing it myself.
Yup, gone. I installed these as footwell lights on my 04 Tahoe. They work very well, come on a with the dome lights and fade out as the dome lights do also. Neat upgrade.

The piece arrived today from my new best friend 05Single. It looks like it came right off the showroom floor. A pleasure to deal with. Thanks 05Single :hail:
My 04 Tahoe came with an open differential. I'm looking to up grade, planning on installing an Eaton TrueTrac. I've never installed or worked on a differential before but have done engine/suspension work. In reading some reviews, it is often referred to as being easy to install. I'm looking for...
