    You sure you're experiencing detonation? Maybe an exhaust leak instead? If you had detonation the PCM either stock or aftermarket would retard the timing and you'd see some horrible fuel economy compared to what you're used to. Have you seen a noticeable drop in mpg?

    The 4L65 should be in any truck/suv that has the 6.0L engine, Escalade, Denali, the 6.0L equipped trucks. It is the same trans case so bolting up shouldn't be an issue. Also the RPO code. It should be M30 for the 4L60 and M32 for the 4L65 transmission.

    I've researched it a bit on the net and it doesn't appear there is anything that can be done other than a normal rebuild. One of the common failures is the tab that holds the adjusters where you set the lash, surprisingly I came across no improved pieces.
