    Prices Paid

This is likely why re-sale is so "bad" on domestic vehicles. You see a 20-30% hit to MRSP in the first year or 2 because they get blown out at year end, especially pick-ups. However, if you got 15+% off, your depreciation probably isn't all that bad. You don't see the steep discounts with...

    Prices Paid

I'd definitely be pushing 20% min off a 2017 especially because it's plausible to get at least 10% off a 2018. Companies get 20% thru "fleet" discounts and all they have to do is keep the vehicle 6 months... so you're competing against lots of small business owners who can weasle the fleet...

Has GMC Denali Name become too common?

I don't know though. A lease on my 4Runner Limited seemed pretty high . If I sold it right now, my cost of ownship over the last 56 months is $360/month pre-tax roughly... depending what I sell it for of course. I just checked online and a 4 and 5yr lease is $675 and $625 pre-tax respectively...

Has GMC Denali Name become too common?

The lease rates on GM seem very high. When you compare leasing and the residual/buyout vs. Buying/financing the vehicle outright, it is several thousand dollars difference minimum. Doesn't seem to make sense to lease.... regardless of tax write offs (unless you bend the rules on personal vs...

Has GMC Denali Name become too common?

I think the Denali is very exclusive and not as common as one might think. I read that the average US household income is about $130,000 for Tahoe/Entry level and up to about $180,000 for Denali buyers. We make more than both and I still can't fathom the idea of dropping that much on a rapidly...

    Future 2020/21 Tahoe/Yukon/Suburban

Stating facts isn't complaining. Also, I don't own (never have) a Tahoe. I own a 4Runner. Also, the LWB isn't very friendly either because the 2nd row is stationary. The legroom isn't all that great with the driver seat back. Should be better in a vehcile that big. I was disappointed with my...

    Future 2020/21 Tahoe/Yukon/Suburban

Why is that Socialist? It's purely economical. Never mind Volvo, Tesla is making strides in the US. I've done the math, and a Tesla car would cost at least 50% less than a comparable sized sedan (I used an MPG equivalent cost). That's a huge difference and I don't think government will have to...

    Future 2020/21 Tahoe/Yukon/Suburban

I agree. It's worse than my 4Runner. This is the reason why we were looking at a LWB but really, I think the dimensions of a Sequoia, Armada, or new Expedition are more suitable for us. We don't need a LWB.

    I need some logic!

Well, my rational answer is that I would hang on to your ride another year or 2 to soften your depreciation curve/total cost of ownership. It seems like these things really drop after year 1 and 2 relative to original MRSP and then flatten out a bit. You also still have lots of powertrain...

2017 Tahoe Premier vs Yukon Denali---which would you buy and why?

How do you figure? TheF150 and new Gen Expedition both have better fuel ratings and the Expedition can tow more than the Yukon. A 15% difference in fuel consumption is material and you also have to consider the added cost of premium gas in the 6.2. So really, you're paying more for less I guess...

2017 Tahoe Premier vs Yukon Denali---which would you buy and why?

Yeah for sure. The 6.2 in the Denali would be a pleasure to drive but it just seems hard to swallow alwhen you can get so much out of a 3.5 lol. Don't get me wrong though, V8 rumble is always soothing.

2017 Tahoe Premier vs Yukon Denali---which would you buy and why?

I forgot to add that I also test-drove the 5.0 V8 too. It had the 6pd tranny so it was really slow to respond vs the 10spd. I'm sure the 10spd in the V8 will be better but the ecoboost pulled better and, honestly, the V8 didn't sound significantly different. Marginally better at most.

2017 Tahoe Premier vs Yukon Denali---which would you buy and why?

I test-drove a 2017 Supercrew Lariat 3.5 ecoboost last week. There is nothing lifeless about that truck. It hauls ass and is very bit as quick as the Denali. 0-60 is well under 6 seconds. Throttle response was instant and the 10sp transmission was awesome. It still sounds pretty good but no, not...

What did you pay - 2017 Yukon SLT or Denali

This time off year you should have no problem getting 15%+ off MRSP. The vehicles is gonna be worth 80% of the sticker price, if you are lucky, once you leave the lot.

Has GM fixed the buffeting and vibration issues?

I think I've decided to either keep my 4Runner and wait for a new Gen Sequoia or get an F150 or new 2018 Expedition. Ecoboost, 10sp tranny, aluminum body are all strong selling points. I'm not gonna give up my 4Runner to roll the dice on one of these.

    iPhone X

Still have my iPhone 6 that I bought 3 years ago in Nov 2014. Phone still works so I don't see the point in upgrading. Only thing I'm missing out on that really matters at this point is a better quality camera. I don't face any other tech limitations such as Apple Pay (the 6 has it) so I'm in no...

Has GM fixed the buffeting and vibration issues?

Just test-drive a 2017 Yukon XL SLT with 18,000miles and I feel like there was a bit of buffeting/pressure. I couldn't hear anything but I do feel like my ears were developing a bit of a popping sensation. Anyway, I was definitely underwhelmed by the test-drive. I think if there was a 10sp...

Has GM fixed the buffeting and vibration issues?

The entire K2XX platform apparently has reported issues and is known as the "Chevy Shake." Probably why the T1XX platform is being released sooner with production under way for the 2019 model year (starting with trucks and SUV's to follow a year or 2 later).

    Decent deal or no?

Yeah but still. The guy above got 25% of MRSP on a demo with half as many miles. They aren't widely available like a large metro area but, proportionally speaking, Canadians don't buy as many full-size SUVs compared to Americans so there isn't as much demand... especially in Nova Scotia. Smaller...

    Decent deal or no?

25% off MRSP seems good. There is a 2017 Yukon XL SLT fleet buyback with 18,000 miles on a local lot here in a Nova Scotia and they are asking $67k!!!. MRSP is $72k on a new 2017 and with cash discount $69k before even negotiating.

    Good deal?

Might get better answers in the proper sub-forum. You posted this in the 2015+ model year forum.

    Future 2020/21 Tahoe/Yukon/Suburban

Several sites suggest the next gen Sierra and Silverado are going to be revealed this year for the 2019 model year on a new platform. The Tahoe/Yukons are apparently going to follow the year after. That's a really short generation. Also, I've read that the buffeting/vibration I have read about...

    Prices Paid

Wow... that seems unusually decent. Not even $15k of deprecation? Pretty good cost of ownership. Sure some of that might be hiding in the new purchase price, but it seems like you got a pretty good deal.
