Wife wants to trade in her 2015 BMW X5 for a Denali. Looking at ones in MSRP range of 75k. What can i get off a 2017 or 2018 in Dallas?

Walk out if you’re getting less than 10% off msrp. Some have gotten north of 15%.

As always, make your new car price and trade price two completely separate negotiations.

So I'm looking at a yukon XL SLT stickers at $67,165, dealer is willing to sell for $59,000 plus TTL, so 12% off MSRP plus 0% finance for 72 months.

How does that sound? I might wait closer to end of month and see if the go 15% below MSRP plus 0% finance...

I am still holding out for this 2017 unit, stickers $67,165, last night dealer offered $57,876.69 plus TTL Out the door =$61,472 plus 0% for 72 months...no trades so about 13.8% off MSRP plus TTL
They refused my 15% off MSRP plus TTL offer...

You'll have that 2017 in the next 25 business days at 15% off plus a set of all weather mats. Hang in there!

maybe the suburbans are differetn but I'm considering a 17 premier suburban and we are right at 18% and I'm pushing for 20%. if happy with deal, I am going to work on trade-in price for our 15 yukon.

Yes, on a comparable suburan seems like I can get closer to 20% off but with no free financing....

Thanks, of course the dealer is saying that the 0% for 72 months will be gone next month....

Could be. Are you really planning on doing a 7 year term though? If not, just get a competitive loan and pay off in a couple years.

you should be able to get close to the $59k for an 18 but like you said, no 0%. I could be wrong, but I don't believe the 18s have the 10spd without going to the denali.

I am looking at an 18 XL SLT for right around $60k or a 17 burb premier for $59k...can't decide if I want to move over to a suburban or not.

Did you decide on which one you like better? I think the Yukon’s look better in general and since the SLT has ventilated seats a plus for me, and the Premier has MRC (a negative for me), I’d go with the Yukon XL personally.

I'm considering both, still. It's either the SLT or Chevy Premier. I've always favored the GMC, hence the 15 we currently own, but figured maybe the burb would be a nice change. wife doesn't want black interior this time and I much prefer the cocoa in the chevy over the SLT. The gmc tan looks very bland, IMO. I think I still prefer the front end of gmc (with denali or prem grille), but the chevy is growing on me. I do prefer the color matched "D" pillar with the chevy over the gmc "all black" as well.

also, I know opinions vary greatly on this and it may actually vary from vehicle to vehicle but I was in a 17 tahoe premier(with 22") recently and it seemed to have a smoother ride than our 15 XL SLT with 20". Then again, I think our 15 is possessed with all sorts of hidden issues.

I'd definitely be pushing 20% min off a 2017 especially because it's plausible to get at least 10% off a 2018. Companies get 20% thru "fleet" discounts and all they have to do is keep the vehicle 6 months... so you're competing against lots of small business owners who can weasle the fleet pricing on a brand new 2018 meaning a 2017 is worth much less than 80% of MRSP.

The big hold back for me is 15% sales tax in Nova Scotia. It's such a cash grab. Even with a $30,000 trade, I'd still have to fork over $4500 to the government.
