Would you sell the plastic woodgrain trim pieces on the dash? There should be 4 altogether, one on either side of the cluster, one above glove compartment and another around center stack. I'm interested if they're not broken (surface scratches are okay) and the price is right.
Yeah, I watched a couple of videos on it. Hell, if I have to go to all that trouble, I may just replace the whole units. They leak and need polishing as it is.
So you know what's dumb? Owning my Yukon for several years and not realizing that the front turn signal uses a second filament in the front marker lamp that could burn out and cause hyperflashing. You know what's REALLY dumb? Not bothering to check the front lamps until after disassembling and...
I have the OEM taillight assembly. But it's in a box, behind some stuff, under some other stuff, in the shed, way out back. When it quits raining (someday), I'll crawl under there and check the connections. The resistors that came with these lights unplug. So if I can pry the 3M VHB tape...
Usually my Yukon waits for me to fix something before something else breaks. My new O2 sensors arrived on Friday. But before I could install them, the left turn signal has started hyperflashing. No bulbs burned out. I'm hoping it's a loose connector, or a bad resistor in my aftermarket...
Thanks for posting that. I was considering adding a drain valve to the catch can I'm about to install. After seeing that, I'll just stick with unscrewing the can as designed. That crap wouldn't flow through a drain valve!
I don't know how clean you need it to be. But I use this all the time:

They make more compact versions. But I specifically wanted one with an on-off switch since GM keeps the 12V receptacle powered...
I put a Fumoto valve on my Yukon a while back. I've used it for three oil changes. It does take a long time to drain. But it's nice not having to use any tools for it. So I just go do something else while it drains.
Does anybody know the size and length of the bolts that connect the exhaust manifolds to the OEM Y-pipe? 6.2L if that matters. I want to have new ones in hand for repairing the broken manifold bolt.
EDIT: I found someone saying NBS use M10x1.5. Can anyone confirm for NNBS?
EDIT 2: Never...
I should have googled before asking. You can buy them brand new for $30. Not worth the trouble to remove, as you said. And who knows? Maybe I'll need it on a road trip to the great white north one day.
My Yukon was originally ordered with a block heater (sold in OR). But I'll never need it (I'm in SC). How much work is it to remove it? Are they worth anything used?
I got my driver side mount replaced yesterday. I had help from a friend with more repair experience and longer arms. We removed the steering shaft and exhaust manifold heat shield. And we had to rip apart the heat shield around the old mount to get at the bolts that held it on the block. We used...
I was able to carve out a few hours this morning with a buddy to replace my broken driver side motor mount. The old one was almost completely ripped in half. I'd prepped by watching a bunch of videos on it, and picked what I thought was the easiest method. We went in from above, removing the...
The compressor idea is cool. I've been pondering what to use the spare battery tray for. Only problem is you have to carry a pretty long hose to reach the rears. Still cool, though.
Probably a dumb idea...has anyone attempted to use the Autoride air suspension system as a compressed air...
Hang in there, man. Life can get overwhelming sometimes. I'm in the same boat. My MIL is about to pass from stage 4 renal failure. Everything sorta gets put on hold. I got motor mounts, manifold bolts, an OEM wing and a catch can ready to go on. But I can't tear into much until we get past...
Not Tahoe related, but there's a specific brand of double-sided tape I've started using for holding workpieces on my CNC router. About a week after I started recommending it to others, the price per roll on Amazon started creeping up. Sure enough, the ranking (shown on the product page) had...
I'm not sure why I couldn't edit the above. But I'm just popping back in to say I got a used OEM Esky housing from eBay. It's even painted the same color as my Yukon. Thanks to those who tried to help me get one on here.
I was thinking kinda the same thing. Take measurements and have a piece of heavy sheet metal cut to replace the brace, but shape it to allow for the lid of the ammo can to be opened in place. You might have to bend a flange on it to give it enough rigidity. But it should be possible. Bonus...
Of all the ones I watched, I think this guy's video (of driver side) made the most sense:
There are probably four ways to do the driver side. But the others require more work, I think.
Passenger side had even more ways. One guy disassembled the mount and reassembled it in place. While he...
