Oh wait, That's you.

From what I've heard you can't just swap out 2500 parts(I dunno about the torsion bars). Everything is different sizes. It's would require cutting and welding and basically rebuilding the front IFS.
But, why would you want stiffer torsion bars anyways?
If my motor ever goes I'll be swapping in a 454 out of a 2500 truck.
But if you're interested in doing a 5.3L swap chances are someone else is too. So you can put the details up even if it's to the benefit of only a handful of people.

The desert is a lot of fun. Even if you do like me, I'm slow but often stumble upon people who need pulled out. If I wanna go fast I get in my buddy's pre-runner. Knowledge about how to drive on sand is key though. I go just about everywhere in two wheel drive.
Last time I was at Glamis, New...
My '98 the rear wheels stand straight. You may want to take another trip to the junk yard to get an axle that is straight. Or you can take a look around town at other GMT-400 trucks to see what they got going on.
But if you find an axle with the proper gear ratio you can save money by swapping...
Turns out... You can put a Hi-Lift on our rear bumpers.
So there I was, stuck as fuck...
We used the Hi-Lift to pick up the rear end and put sand/traction boards under the back wheels and to dig out the axle. And then this guy shows up in his contraption which had a winch...
By the way, my super awesome Hi-Lift mounts. At least, super awesome in my opinion.
Looks almost pro, right?
Hood pins that my buddy had lying around his garage. You can get them at O'Reilly's or AutoZone.
Drilled through the roof rack and stuck the hood pins through. The springs...
What about the hook designed for steel bumpers? If I use that and put it closer to where the bumper mounts to the frame it should be alright, right?
If not I've used the Hi-Lift on my hitch befor.
Ya know what a bent bumper means though? Means you can go out and buy a gnarlier bumper. If...
So, off-road a regular jack just doesn't cut it. I've got a Hi-Lift and want to know if the front tow hooks would be strong enough to jack up one of the front wheels. To either change wheels or place a traction board under it.
I'm thinking one of my 5K lbs cargo straps around a hook and up...
I have a 170amp alternator. When I first start it squeals horrible until I rev it once or twice past 2500rpms. And if the everything isn't warm and I put a load on the electrical system(off-road lights, ELocker) it'll squeal at lower rpms and all the lights dim. Will the "Big 3" help that problem?
If you can find a locker for the front let me know. I spent months searching and the best I could find is that the aluminum housing is too weak to handle the torque load of a locking differential.
But if you can find a locker and a solution to the weak housing problem, I'd like to know.
I don't know why you couldn't unbolt the crossmember. When I swapped my T-case out, had that crossmember not been riveted, I would have pulled it too. If you really had to(you shouldn't though) you could chisel off the rivets and then replace them with bolts. Kinda like doing ball joints.
