The deed is done. Took out autoride, 2" lift, Bilstein 5100's and z71 coils

Hmmmm. I'm not sure that "stiffer" is the right word. In short, yes, but I think a better description would be "firmer", because stiff implies "harsh", and the ride is far from harsh. It is for sure firmer, and in a good way. Just today I left a parking lot that I frequent that has a bad dip...

The deed is done. Took out autoride, 2" lift, Bilstein 5100's and z71 coils

Sure was. The width doesn't have much to do with spring rate. Despite the LT coils having a wider diameter, the actual spring strength is a separate factor. With the z71 coils being taller and firmer, they more than overcompensate for the LT coils diameter. It really comes down to the temper of...

LED light bar in the front valence?

How did you wire up the fogs? did you use a relay and harness or just buy connectors that work with the existing fog light wires and then just plug them in? Are they hooked up to fog light button on the interior?

The deed is done. Took out autoride, 2" lift, Bilstein 5100's and z71 coils

Oh damn! no wonder it made such a huge difference in height and ride quality. My LT coils had 173k and trailering with no support from blown autorides when I took them out. Sent from my Galaxy Note 4 via Tapatalk for Android

Looking to lift my 01 tahoe

Moog 81069 Suspension Coil Spring https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00498ZR7A/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_bp86ub0TZJ9WQ Just put these in my '01 Hoe after removing my busted autoride. I used keys and 1.5" rear spacers and bilsteins Sent from my Galaxy Note 4 via Tapatalk for Android

The deed is done. Took out autoride, 2" lift, Bilstein 5100's and z71 coils

Sorry missed this post on mobile. I believe the Z71 coils will lift the rear about another .5" maybe more. It was hard for me to tell due to replacing shocks and coils simultaneously and my coils being worn out. In any case, totally worth it Sent from my Galaxy Note 4 via Tapatalk for Android

The deed is done. Took out autoride, 2" lift, Bilstein 5100's and z71 coils

Yeah I didn't either until I was in the shop haha. Sizing down to 16's saved me about $100 on wheels and got me a little more sidewall and also knocked about $20 off of each tire. The guys at the shop recommended I stick with the NBS brakes because the added benefit of a little more surface area...

The deed is done. Took out autoride, 2" lift, Bilstein 5100's and z71 coils

So I finally got all my suspension parts put in my Hoe and got a new set of tires and wheels. I downsized my 20x8's to 16x8's and sized up my 275/55 AT tires to 285/75 MT tires. 2.5" front lift from new keys, and 2+" rear lift from z71 coils and 1.5" coil spacers. I couldn't be happier with...

    LED Lighting and Stereo interference

Not sure if any of you have any experience with this but you might be able to help. First some background info: I have a aftermarket stereo installed as well as multiple LED bars. *180 watt front bumper bar *54 watt behind grill *500 watt on roof *2x18 watt rear facing camp/backup/tailgater...

Just finished my roof rack.. pics inside

I used 6 galvanized u-bolts to secure it to the existing rails. The weight of everything is distributed mainly in the center of the rack, and because of the curvature of the factory rails and the straight rails on the rack, weight in the front of the rack will pull upwards on the rear rails and...

    Mounting a Roof Basket

Yeah, mine doesn't fit in the garage anymore, but that's because I have a tiny little crappy duplex garage

    Need your help deciding

I like the middle ground, although I think leveling the car to fit 33"s would be smart to keep from any tire rub and the aesthetics of a level truck. Also, If you do the hunting and trailering and such, I wouldn't go with wheels larger than 20". You'll want all the sidewall you can get when...

    Mounting a Roof Basket

So Im back again after a successful endeavor. I used the ubolt method, (round ones b/c I couldn't get square ones in the right width. Turns out it didn't matter and the rack is unbelievably sturdy. Check it out and shoot me any questions in this thread

Just finished my roof rack.. pics inside

I have updated the photos ITT to show what it looks like now. Overall, I'm highly satisfied with the result. As I suspected, the addition of the light bar with the mounting configuration I went with has eliminated ALL wind noise the rack used to make. It would howl loudly over 40mph due to the...

    Torsion bar z71 vs lt

I don't think the front would be any different. I have an LT w/ autoride and the only differences that I know of are the shocks (obviously) and the rear coil springs. I just bought new rear coils from a z71 and I'm getting rid of the busted autoride and replacing all my shocks

Bilstein shocks model #'s for 2" lift?

I just bought a pair of the 83's on amazon. $75 each with free shipping. Going to have to wait for my next paycheck to get the other pair :(

Bilstein shocks model #'s for 2" lift?

I'm going to use keys/spacers and z71 coils in my Tahoe. I want to take out the autoride and replace the shocks with bilsteins. Looking online, I can find the right ones for my Tahoe, but I think I will need longer ones than the replacements since I'm lifting about 2" I know quite a few of...

Update on my Yukon, added 37s.

I've been wanting to get tow mirrors anyway. Tahoe's and Yukon's have some bad blind spots even without a lift. Where did you get your mirrors from?

LED light bar in the front valence?

Light it up. Don't pull the billett yet. If the light bar is too dim behind the billett, spring for a new grill. I really like the black mesh grills they make for Yukon's. Go for a 30" double array. I run a 20" behind a stock tahoe grill on my Tahoe and I wish I went for a 30" double array

Keys + Spacers + Bilsteins = Lift with good ride?

In have keys and spacers and z71 coils in my apartment already, i just am confused about the exact bilsteins I need. I'll return the extenders right away though. Do I need to pull a relay to disable the autoride system all the way? I'd like to ditch the weight of the compressor to free up some...

Keys + Spacers + Bilsteins = Lift with good ride?

I'll get the bilsteins then. Autoride has been nothing but trouble so far. I feel like regular shocks would be the best, especially bilsteins. I take my Hoe off road more than most, so I want to be able to be confident on the dirt and in the mud

Keys + Spacers + Bilsteins = Lift with good ride?

So, I should get a set of bilstein 5100's all around, ditch the shock extenders up front, throw in extended bilsteins on all four, keep the z71 coils, crank the keys, and throw my 1.5" spacers in back? That would mean I have about $300 more to buy for shocks. I can't get away with keys and...

Keys + Spacers + Bilsteins = Lift with good ride?

I just realized that I can't do this because I have auto ride. Instead im using keys and shock extenders up front, and then putting z71 coils in the rear with 1.5" spacers
