anyone do E-fans on a obs??

haks - from a performance and mpg, I saw no difference on my 4dr 4x4. Some ppl claim they have, but i have a really hard time believing a clutch driven fan sucks up 1 - 2mpg (that's what I've seen as claims). If you think about it, our rigs average about 15mpg (just to keep the math...

Need help with parts for 1998 Yukon

agreed with the above, AC Delco is the way to go. There are two types of AC Delco plug for your truck, go with the premium. They are iridium tipped and come pregapped. I believe it's 0.06...just make sure to check the gap on EACH plug prior to install....it's always possible one or more...

Lost my lugnut key, nobody has right one, what do I do?

you have to love, if there's a need, someone will make it....after spending money on locking lugs, all thieves need to do is buy a universal kit!! As sasquatch recommended...get a cheap socket and a mallet. Hammer the socket onto the locking lug. When the socket expands over the head of the...

    Switching to syn oil?

go for it - just watch for leaks!! I have an '89 Mustang that lived on conventional and when I switched to syn, it leaked. I switched back to conventional, no more leaks. It's all about your vehicle and how it responds to the new oil...for some it works great, others just need to switch...

    obs MPG

a big part of this is the truck you're running with...some guys eluded to it, others didn't. 4dr 2dr 4x4 4x2 / stock suspension or lifted / stock tires or not. SOOO many factors...even % of ethanol. However, I don't give a flaming %^&$ what you drive, noone is getting 20+ with a...

    How to level?

Unfortunately I lost my measurements and I'm not exactly sure how high I jacked the front...i know its somewhere between 1 and 1.5" With that in mind, I now need to order a pair of blocks to level the back. How do I measure the height difference so I know what size block to purchase?

anyone do E-fans on a obs??

if you want to go nuts, I wired in two temp sensors that automatically trigger low & high speed independently....unfortunately you're looking @ 4 relays and a custom pipe split between your radiator hose for that (to hold the sensors)...but it's fully automatic!! Most people on here only wire...

FINALLY GOT 'em - New Rims + Tires

thanks guy! In September I'm completeing a full external detail (PC, polishes, sealants, waxes, etc) and I'm pumped to see how the total package looks. Right now it looks like brand new wheels, on a dirty truck with scratches. However, it definitely looks a lot "tougher" which was the look i...

My Vortec is dual into the muffler, single out (OEM)...nothing crossing over before the muffler.

    Headers?

Agreed - shorties will do very little for you. HOWEVER, long tube headers provide their own challenges, namely installation and cost. I'm not aware of a setup that is bolt-on...so it typically involves some custom pipe bending, welding, new cats and a longer and knuckle bruising install...

    Best polish for polished rims?

Got it - then they're probably clear coated. I just ordered a few products from Adam's that are supposedly dynamite; raves reviews from everyone I've spoken to. For the rims - I'm using their Machine Sealant, Brilliant Glaze and Americana Wax this wkd on mine. The downside is that it's...

    Front Brake Rotors

Personally, I do not purchase any brake components on ebay...especially from no-name manufacturers. With how critical and inexpensive good quality kits are (compared to the cost of these rides), I would always go with a tried and true manufacturer. Also, do not get drilled rotors. For our...

    Brake upgrade questions

Any chance you have tested them out by slamming on the brakes at high speed (i.e. 50mph+). I'm curious to hear your impressions on low speed vs high speed stopping. If you haven't broken the pads in yet, don't test them out until you put some mileage on them... Also, I'm assuming you are...
