Likely, the junkyard is your best bet. Check car-part.com as a lot of salvage yards are on there and post photos of the vehicles. Search for a generic part like a hood or door or seat and you can get better results.
Alternately, this site has the old GM part numbers which can assist when...
They had a factory governor on these that was set at 98-mph and would stop injector flow. You probably hit that, plus or minus whatever GM put into their speedometers at the time.
It’s been twenty-plus years since I did it, but it just suddenly (and slightly harshly) backed off as though you...
Mine was noticeable only at certain speeds. Maybe cupping isn’t the right term - it was when the edge of one tire was worn down and it was no longer even if looking at it straight on.
I’m sure it would work, but you’d have to cut the switch bezel to fit it in. I’ve not seen any “stock” types that just snap right in.
Alternately, you could mount it inside the bottom pocket (assuming that you don’t have the slave CD player).
A lot of radios have a front USB port, so...
That distributor looks (well, obviously, lol) like the one that I got from Summit with the all-metal tabs. Odds are that they’re all just rebranded from one manufacturer, but I wouldn’t get another one with the plastic mounting tabs.
The supplied Summit cap was junk, of course, after a month...
CarGauge Pro and DashCommand are two apps that will read the CMP Retard with the extended ($) PIDs. Any OBD Bluetooth adapter should suffice.
Most free apps will probably read the timing, but that isn’t the number that you’re looking for.
Thanks, I’ll keep that in mind. I’ve got them set for now, but still have the rest of the intake, etc. to put back on along with some other things that needed addressing.
Given my work pace, it should be ready to start in 2024.
No kidding. Find an old-school local shop where they still smoke in the lobby. Those are the guys that I’ve always had the best experience with.
To your questions, a bad EVO will feel like you hit a patch of ice while taking a curve in the road. That doesn’t sound like your issue. No, these...
My best guess is that it’s one of your new parts since your old symptoms went away and a new one appeared.
Something isn’t right at #2 - fuel, spark or air. I’d put air to the side given the compression test and your lack of an issue at that cylinder before the ignition and fuel part changes...
Some have put in a 99-02 Silverado console. Getting it to look good after trimming plastic is probably the challenge.
The stock 95-00 cupholder still requires you to hold onto the cup when turning.
Can the stock rocker arm nuts be reused (1998 350)? I’d expect that they’ve never been off before. I can get them on by hand no more than 1/4 turn without using a ratchet.
Finally getting this thing put back together.
Got a picture of the muffler locations and downstream routing?
I fit a true-dual in my truck but am scratching my head on how to accomplish it on my two door.
Do you mean the timing (controlled by the computer) or the CMP Retard (set using a scanner)? There’s no adjustment for the former and- unless you got really lucky- you’re off on the CMP if you don’t have a scanner to read it. But, it can be off up to 14-degrees or so without throwing the P1345...
So the misfire moved to #2 after the new work?
I haven’t had any issues with the two Delco (made by Dephi) MPFI kits, but every now and then you’ll hear someone have issues with other brands. It’s probably like most things - people only say something when it’s broken.
If you can rule out the...
Oops, I guess my response was a bit vague there.
Swagfu- The adapter just means you don’t have to cut the factory wires but you will have to splice them adapter to the wires coming from the radio.
They’ll do it for you for a fee before they ship it to you.
Here’s another option. They look to mimic the minor factory pleats in the original.
Consider replacing the bottom foam for a better fit or, at the least, using an upholstery steamer to expand the foam a bit. If it’s a loose fit, the cover will wear faster.
I don’t remember if they were free or not but they do sell the harness adapter. It will usually pop up when you select the radio. Makes everything easier.
I’ve had no issues with them.
Do you get to specify a replacement value?
On a different forum, I remember some poor soul that had to deal with the state insurance up there and they seriously undervalued his truck following a claim. But, there wasn’t anything that he could do about it since the government insurance is the...
Does your Yukon have the Z71 RPO code? For the two door Tahoe and other GMT400 trucks equipped with that RPO, that included 4600 series Bilsteins which is what I replaced on mine.
I have a brochure for a 98 Sierra and their Z71 specified the same Bilsteins. The only GMC Yukon/Suburban one...
265/75/16 was a factory option so no issues there.
You can fit most 285/75/16 on them as well (BFG AT for example).
For different rim sizes, compare overall tire diameter.
