    Anyone running wheel dust shields?

PPV's have holes. Just for the record. The shields are going to end up looking like this: And you ain't in no porsche. At least turbofans were supposed to be functional. I just see the shields acting like a giant pizza cutter, dinner plate wheel, on some of the heaviest non-commercial...

How many miles do you have?

2005 Yukon denali just rolled 288110. No major engine or trans work. Most expensive thing I had to fix was the autoride. Shocks blew, compressor burned out. Other than that it's been great.

    8,000

I'd buy the best shape 00-06 I could find. Miles aren't bad with these. Every truck and suv we've owned from these years has been bullletproof, and we run up huge miles on them, driving all over southeast MA for work, and from nh to florida for recreation. Right now I drive an 05 with 288,000...

Am I too young to be driving a Tahoe?

In my narcing I have come across many. They all drive tahoes.

Am I too young to be driving a Tahoe?

Been whipping my yukon since 16. Driving anything else never crossed my mind. If not work, I'd drive one for the rest of my life. Around here no one thinks mom car. Around here, everybody wants an SUV. It's an executive vehicle. Rappers, celebrities, and athletes all drive around in big black...

Escalade/Yukon XL/ Yukon for the wife.

Going to be a while late to this party but in regards to transmission reliability/life- Your Escalade has a 4l65-E. Same transmission as the 4l60-E but built a little stronger. Same as my Denali, transmission is all original, no slips, no issues, for over 288,000 miles.

    Transmission slipping 2016 Denali

8 speed transmission? It's not a lie, it is a characteristic of the transmission. A bad characteristic.

    Windshield tint

Are you talking 70% film or 70% metered when finished? IIRC clear glass meters at like 75%. So 70% film on top would meter down close to 50%.

Tahoe LS vs Yukon SLE: $1200 more expensive, what is it missing?

GMC's have always been a tad bit nicer than the chevrolet's. Before LTZ and high country, and you could only get the nicest features in a GMC Denali. IMO GMC always has nicer front ends.

Denali and AWD Traction Control. Seems to work more than I would like to..

Replace your ABS sensors. It's like 40 bucks for both. Easy job if you have access to a jack and some simple tools. If you feel up to it, clean the surface rust off your cv's.

    REAR AUX

This is what I have. RCA to stereo connector https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002K8A75I/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 6 bucks, and I have prime shipping so it got here in 2 days, for free. Long enough for anyone in the car to plug in.

    REAR AUX

If you have the rear DVD, you get an aux to composite cable (headphone plug on one end, red and white composite plugs on the other) and plug it into the red and white plugs on the dvd player. Then turn the dvd player on and use the source button to switch to AUX. Press rear aux on your head unit...

2000 to 2006 models worth it?

Shipping's cheaper than most people expect. My buddy's jeep got shipped from southern California to Massachusetts for around 500 bucks.

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

What did that set you back? I know nothing about tint so I don't know what's a good price. I got quoted 80 for the front 2 by a friend of a friend and he swears it's a good deal.

    2000-2006 Yukon Denali

Afaik there was no AWD tahoe. Some of the newer vehicles have "auto 4wd" with a computer system that will engage it and disengage it, kinda like awd, but they also can be locked into lo/hi as well. Stabilitrack is just the traction control system. It applies the brakes to wheels individually...

2000 to 2006 models worth it?

Bigger towing capacity and in the 2500. Also if you want the 6.0 it was offered as an option in 2006 on the suburban. You could also find a denali xl/escalade esv. You can find clean ones at a good price. My buddy just sold his 2006 denali xl with 120k miles for 5500. Also the lq9 and the lq4...

2003 Yukon NO COLD AIR (I'M MELTING)

See if you can spin the compressor by hand. If I remember correctly it's low down on the passenger side. If it spins, move to checking the freon. Also check the stupid stuff- an anecdote: Mine went earlier this year. I checked the compressor and the wheel spun. Checked the freon and it was...

Help me decifer this new to me Denali's autoride

Take a real close look at the shocks. Not uncommon for them to clow out completely. Compressor could also be bad/tank blown. It will fry the compressor eventually if it's constantly running.

What made you go with an SUV over a Truck?

I bought the yukon because I got a sweet deal on it. I love the room it has to haul stuff and people, and it's all covered. Plus it looks cool and is great on the highway. It cruises at a good clip and is decently smooth compared to a leaf sprung truck. I need to trade it for a crew cab diesel...

2000 to 2006 models worth it?

I never broke my front diff in almost 300k miles. But if you're concerned with that get a chevy or a non-denali gmc with a 6.0. They exist.

    2000-2006 Yukon Denali

I love the AWD. When I really need to have 4wd instead of AWD I wouldn't want to be in an SUV, let alone a stock height one. Unless you slide off the road and get stuck, AWD will work fine. if you're driving in deep snow, I'd want something lifted, and with a bed to put weight in. There's a...

    New guy rant in...3...2...1

Because if you tried to buy a first gen suburban you wouldn't be buying a '95 ;) A first generation tahoe is the same body style as an eighth generation suburban. If you name the body style and not the generation it gets easier to tell what truck you are talking about and nbs is shorter that...
