This one shouldn't have any issues. Because in Alabama we very rarely see snow. The last one was rusted through in several spots and damaged. One thing I can day after spending all weekend under it is these trucks could use more under body protection. Did the Z71 trucks come with a skid plate...
Ok, so no Pro Comp shocks but what should I get? My lifted Samurai ran Monroe shocks but it was so light marshmallows would have done a great job. The Jeep Wrangler and 05 2500 Duramax I lifted worked great with Pro Comp shocks. The Jeep had the cheap Pro Comps and the Duramax had the dual hoop...
I just got off the phone with 4 Wheel Parts and Off-road and they suggested keys with Pro Comp 5000 shocks, steering stabilizer, Pro Comp 8069 (since the Mojave has been discontinued) and 285/70/17 Pro Comp AT for 1800 shipped. How are those shocks, tires, is a steering stabilizer needed, and...
I have a 1996 Tahoe that we got in March some time. The truck runs great and gets around 15 or so in city driving. The problem is when you start it it's almost the fuel pressure is low. Several people looked at it an all came to the same conclusion. Since this weekend I've swapped the fuel pump...
If you don't need the money keep it. I had a 93 Volvo 850 that I just recently sold because I bought another vehicle for my wife. But say you wreck a car, your insurance company will give you a rental car. A coverage you pay for. If you keep this Tahoe you could drop that coverage. Also I don't...
Yesterday I replaced the fuel pump in out 1996 Tahoe. I live in the South so the closest my trucks get to salt is if my wife buys some at the groceries and salt is one of them. When I pulled the tank down and removed the skid plate it came apart. Since I plan on in the future doing some minor...
Are y'all getting van from the newer model Silverado trucks or are you getting fans from something else? It seems like I remember that people are using fans from a Ford Taurus or something and a box from Advance or Auto Zone that has a probe that goes into the radiator fin and once you give it...
I did flush the coolant today and swapped in new coolant with Red Line's Water Wetter and the temperature dropped about 20-30°. Now the AC blows much much cooler. We'll see how much it improves the temperature for the kids in the back.
What if I got a center console from a Denali or something with the vents on the back of the console? When I've done the interior swaps in a couple other GM trucks you swap the lower part of the dash and run the ducting to the back. Honestly that would be more than enough. I never wanted to swap...
Will this kit ride good http://item.mobileweb.ebay.com/viewitem?itemId=360386995976&cmd=VIDESC&title=Description&index=4&nav=SEARCH&nid=80186961714?? I need to replace some of the wear and tear items including ball joints and shocks. If these shocks ride goodi will order it. I should have plenty...
We had an 04 GMC Yukon XL with rear air and my kids loved it. Now I have this 96 Tahoe with no form of rear temperature control. Is there something I can get parts from that came with rear air? Even if I have to swap from the front bench to buckets and a center console with vents on the back of...
What shock work best once I turn the torsion bars? The reason I'd do the back is because the rear sits lower in the back. Also what should the fender height be once I turn bars. Getting the truck used I'm not sure what the PO did to the suspension

Get a larger fuel tank. Maybe Titan makes one for your truck. Then the rest is just like any other standard 4x4. Good body protection, winch, dependable drive line and etc. If it were me I'd prep the truck and put all my survival materials in a small lightweight off road trailer and camper...
Right now my Tahoe has 245/75/16s on it. I want to go to a bigger tire. I'm thinking like a 285/75 or something around 32". I know I could turn the torsion bars and trim a little bit but I want something that will ride as close to stock as possible. Would keys and a small block be enough? Also...
I've got a 96 Tahoe and every since I've had it it has been getting hard to start. I got it the first of this year so I'm not sure on the maintenance. Other than a fuel pump getting weak is there anything else that could cause this? Other than this the truck is perfect. It seem to be a little...
According to them they make the wiring harness for 650 and I'll need a newer 01 ecu and swap to the newer accessory drive. I think with a tuned ecu, cam, headers, and exhaust it'll make much more power than the 350 in it now, comparable power to a 383 and get much better economy. And since I'll...
I've been reading about it all day. It seems like there are places to get the wiring harness to plug it in I think. I'm waiting to hear back from them, I called and left them a message.
I have a 2000 Silverado that I'm getting a head and cam 6.0 so I'll have a low mileage 5.3. I will at some point swap the motor in my Tahoe. I was considering the HT383 but I think a 5.3 with supporting mods and a cam would make 383 like power although a little higher in the rpm. But it should...
You already have problems with the parking deck but you want to lift it 3" put a taller rack on the roof and a spare on top of that? Do you plan on parking on the street?
