I know that heads made by castech are known to crack, Their logo is somewhere under the rocker arms. If i remember correctly there are 706 and 862 heads with the 862 being the best choice. I`m going off memory so if i`m wrong hopefully someone here corrects me.
I have heard good things about the vinci trucker cam. Scroll down a bit to find it here, http://www.vincihiperformance.com/camshaft%20spec%20list%20page%20ls%20truck.html
A few guys are running on here and liked it...
I have an 05 yukon with a blackbear 93 octane tune cai and a catback 3:42 gears with 275/55/20`s. Most often i travel to our property in central NY 150 miles from our house loaded with about 3-400 pounds of dogs and other stuff and i average 16.5 to 17 doing 70-75 but the whole way there is up...
I tried to find it and failed as well. I dumped autoride a few years ago and replaced it with billstein 5100 shocks. You could also use the 4600`s, A bunch of people here have used both and like them. I could not be happier with them. I have a regular yukon and just left the stock springs...
I use ramps to change the oil but it would be easy without them. If the oil filter was not over tightened you should be able to remove it by hand but most people ape them on so it`s not a bad idea to pick up a filter wrench just in case.
I have never used marvel mystery oil so i have no...
It`s an easy fix if you have small hands, I have catchers mitts for hands and could not remove the damn thing. I called a tiny friend of mine for help and he had it in and out in about five minutes.
I don`t have that on my yukon. I guess it`s only on a Z71 but i suspect that it`s the reason that rust has started there possibly holding in moisture. I`m no body guy but it couldn`t hurt to leave it off after you fix the rust.
I`ve had many close calls with deer but have only hit three or four birds. The only four legged animal i have ever hit was a chipmunk on my mountain bike.
Some manufactures vary on how they suggest you bed in your brakes. My R-1 rotors said to get up to 55-60 mph and hit the brakes moderately hard down to 15 mph and repeat that around 3-4 times if i remember correctly. I have also has rotors that said just to avoid aggressive braking for the...
One of mine went bad so i just replaced both of them. My thinking is that if one went out i might as well do them both when i`m under there and be done with it.
I forgot to mention that mine are 275/55/20. I went from the stock 265/70/16 or whatever they were and there was no noticeable difference in the ride but the handling got better from the shorter sidewall.
I`m on my second set of cooper discoverer H/T Plus and love them. They tend to run a little wider than other brands i have seen which i like. I got about 45k on the first set, They run quiet have great wet/snow traction and i think they`re a good looking tire. For the price you can`t go wrong...
To make that much power you would most likely need a cam, long tube headers, aftermarket exhaust, cold air intake and a tune. Don`t waste your money on a throttle body spacer. It does nothing for your engine.
I`m not sure about all CAI kits but it`s important that you check the elbow coupler on the throttle body every now and then. I have a spectre and it has loosened and came off sucking unmetered air into the engine. I have found that it happens more in winter time, Probably from heat cycling...
If you`re low on freon the compressor will kick on for a few seconds and go off. It will kick on and off repeatedly. If you have a leak and have no freon it won`t come on at all.
You can try to throw a few cans of R134a in there and see if the compressor comes on again. If you`ve never...
If you have no luck on craigslist can try digital dash solutions on ebay. http://stores.ebay.com/SPEEDOMETER-SALES-AND-SERVICE?_trksid=p2047675.l2563
A bunch of guys have used them here me included with great results. If you`re good with soldering circuit boards he sells that little PRNDL...
