Brought a new (to me) Burb home

Also, pretty sure i'm going to buy the Morimoto headlights for the burb at some point in the next couple of months....I have been pleasantly surprised by the stock HIDs, however the driver's side DRL LED is failing, and if i'm going to take it off to fix the circuit board and reseal it....why...

What did you do to your 2015-2020 K2XX Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Looks good, i love the Diode Dynamics product lines, Made in America quality and it shows

What did you do to your 2015-2020 K2XX Tahoe/Yukon Today?

I'll be honest, i haven't tried them again in close to 20 years. At the time, i did buy higher end rotors, i still do. All of my stuff is Hawk's Performance on my rigs these days. But i've also never had to justify drilled and slotted rotors, i also have a tendency to rely on my brakes...

What did you do to your 2015-2020 K2XX Tahoe/Yukon Today?

@ss4chad i would highly reconsider the cross drilled and slotted rotors. While they are great at shedding head, they warp incredibly easy and can chew through brake pads. Which is fine in a race setting where they are replaced every race, on a DD, not so ideal. if you are looking for...

    Replacing front shocks

ARNOTT MR4262 https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=15780917&cc=3307626&pt=15174&jsn=20 $1,000 to do them, that's what scares people away. If you are having a shop do it, you can get the factory GM ones, i believe the GM ones come with a life time warranty, while arnott is only 2 years...

    Replacing front shocks

I stuck with active, because i wanted to keep the ride quality of the magnetic shocks

    Replacing front shocks

Use Arnott or GM, if you buy GM you have to transfer the coils, Arnott ships complete units with new coils. I didn't want to mess with transferring the coils over, so it made my choice a pretty easy one. Bought them from Rock Auto

Replace or reupholster drivers seat - 2017 Tahoe LT

Having just done new cushions and new leather from the Seat Shop, i will say it was pretty easy to pull the chairs out. Start to finish is about 1 hour per chair. Pretty easy to do. I wouldn't want to do it in the truck, pull the seats. It's 2 pieces of plastic at the front of the rails...

    Ball joints recommendations?

I wouldn't say the additional cost isn't much, $30/40 ish to $200. However, talking with my buddy he raised a good point with the aluminum control arms, dissimular metals tend to sieze together over time. Steel BJ and aluminum arm tend to make them seize together and you destroy the control...

What did you do to your 2015-2020 K2XX Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Did the passenger seat rebuild this weekend, fresh cushions up front make a huge difference. New leather from the seat shop matches perfectly as well Also, Morimoto XB tail lights with the reverse light booster installed from DDP Motorsports, definitely a nice aesthetic upgrade

Brought a new (to me) Burb home

But the more importanter project for the weekend was another success story. Esky tail lights, They are both Morimoto XB series tail lgiths With the backup light booster I will say, if i ever need to pull the trim panels off on the rear hatch again i may consider buying new...

But i did get the passenger seat done this weekend Old seat cushion, had the same red stain. Looks better blue Alos, the seat shop recoemnds starting in the front when pressing the hog rings in, and then moving back from there. I did the oppisite on the driver's seat, and this time i...

    Ball joints recommendations?

Like i said though, inspection happens this weekend when i run down to my buddies place to look at it in his shop rather then my garage. So i'll likely have a (hopefully) little list. Steering feels solid, but with 160k miles, i wouldn't be surprised if the end links and steering needs to be...

    Ball joints recommendations?

Really only need the lower BJs, don't see much of a need to replace the entire assembly unless i have to or the bushings are worn out on it I see doorman makes a heavy duty variant for a decent price $31 and change from rock auto, i like the idea of a HD variant due to the gravel roads and...

    Ball joints recommendations?

Hey everyone, pretty sure my lower BJs are going to need to be replace, inspecting this weekend, tires show excessive wear indication suspension components, when i bought the burb the front shocks were beyond shot, so replaced those with arnotts that keep the magnetic suspension system working...

What did you do to your 2015-2020 K2XX Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Got the LED backlight GM bowtie installed yesterday, took up maybe 5 minutes of time And after fully rebuilding the bottom end of this seat, new cushion, new leather, new heater / ac ducts, new vibrators, got it sitting back in the burb all nice and happy. And honestly, wow. What a...

And for the sake of others, GM P/N 84751545 is for the LED back lit bow tie on the grill. it is basically plug and plus, you bore out a hole behind the emblem and connect the wires. The kit has you insert the wires through the grill, and then insert the wire ends into a plug. They snap in...

Brought a new (to me) Burb home

And i suppose i should mention, i threw this in as well yesterday I'll be honest, i'm kinda disappointed in the brightness of it. For being a genuine GM product, i expected the glowing ring to be brighter and more like a DRL. It's noticeable at night, but i was just thinking it would be...

Brought a new (to me) Burb home

So, i finished the driver's seat last night and slapped her into the burb. And i just have to say...wow. What a huge difference. Start to finish it probably takes about an hour, i'll know for sure tomorrow when i do the passenger seat. But if i had to guess, about an hour from starting to...

Brought a new (to me) Burb home

In it's entirety. I learned years ago if i want to get something done, the drinking can only start AFTER you are done...i also understand now why so many people say everyone should redo a seat at some point to have the knowledge as to why it's sometimes easier to just let someone else do it...

replacement heated seat showed up yesterday, went to start putting the driver's seat together last night but got called away on other things and didn't get back to it. I'm hoping to dedicate a little time to it tonight to get the driver's seat back together. Regardless of what i get done...
