    Diesel Appropriate?

I wouldn't hesitate to get a diesel. Short trips, long trips, doesn't matter, the diesel will work. As for regen's, I haven't had an issue with either of ours. I am driving a 3.0 Sierra to and from work, and for errands, rarely sees the highway, has 20k on it now, zero issues, never had it ask...

Just got a notice (dated October) for an "automated driving mapping control module" reprogramming...

The wife took the Yukon in 2 weeks ago. There were a few updates, brake system leakage detection, the mapping module, no issues yet. I used SC when we went to the kids house for Thanksgiving, I didn't notice any difference, but I have always used it on longer drives, not in town where there is...

    Transmission Thermal Bypass Valve

Having owned more GM vehicles over the years than most, I thought GM was using the updated TBV on all transmissions, but I just found out that GM is still using the older version if the engine is an LM2 and LM0. The TBV is basically a thermostat for the transmission, when the fluid temperature...

Bluetooth Call Volume Issue / And. Auto Volume Issue?

There is a TSB open, GM is investigating, and said they would update the TSB as soon as they have a solution. GM TSB MC-11009142-0001

New Update Fried My Entire Info & Sound System!!

If it's a 2022, it's still under warranty. If it was caused by an update, GM will repair it at no charge. GM doesn't do OTA updates anymore, as was mentioned in another post, why did you drive away from the dealership with it like that.

    Fuel filter

We replace the 3.0's every 25k, and the 6.6's every 15k. I have an extra in all our vehicles, never want to be stranded due to a filter issue. I have only had to use the emergency filter once, that was a few years ago, filled up in Albuquerque, and the truck started running rough as I crossed...

    2024 Yukon Denali Diesel impressions

I hit my favorite employee, the shop manager. He said there were a few states, but GM in the early 2000's moved the light function from a switch/relay function, to the BCM (Body Control Module). The BCM is CAN Bus controlled, and the majority of the BCM functions are ECM controlled. There are 2...

    2024 Yukon Denali Diesel impressions

GM's have been like as far back as I can remember. I have an idea it's because some states you are not suppose to use them unless weather requires it. I had an employee cited for it a few years ago in Montana out of all places. He was told unless the weather conditions required the lights, they...

Would emissions delete get rid of coolant bypass valve issue?

There is a TSB on the valves TSB Here. I know this isn't a warm fuzzy, but I have a RAM sitting in the yard that has been waiting for it's version for 2 months. There are some dealers that have them in stock, my mechanic grabbed one from Van in Arizona. For some reason dealers no longer ship...

The one that caused the issue for me was Y171, the latest is Y172, and some also have a recall on an update for a module. .

Dealer service backed up two weeks or more

Make the appointment for 2 weeks out, show up, tell them you will be in the service waiting area. My guess is they will tell you it needs to be left, that is when you ask for a loaner. They will tell you they do not have any, at which time I would ask to see the Svc Mgr, who will likely get you...

    Infotainment Issues a Plenty

Unfortunately I didn't have any done until there was a problem. Still working through the lane departure. To pay $80k plus for a vehicle, then never update it under warranty is not sound advice, it needs to be dealt with under warranty, do after warranty and it's on your dime, not theirs.

    Infotainment Issues a Plenty

It is a bit unnerving, but all the manufacturers have issues, none of them are exempt, basically, pick your poison. The updates were done this morning, plus the additional lane departure fix, and all is working as it should once again. The lane departure hasn't worked in so long I have to get...

    Infotainment Issues a Plenty

Wife gets in the car this morning, starts it, all the stations were there, the seat button programming was back, neither of us did anything, no OTA updates. The stealer said Y172 should fix the CarPlay, 4G, and a few other nuances. I told him they said the Y171 update would fix the lane...

    Infotainment Issues a Plenty

Sine the Y171 update, my wife noticed a few issues with the infotainment system. It looses 4G signal on and off, the Sirius XM audio cuts out, Car Play doesn’t connect automatically like it use to. It isn’t just her phone, mine doesn’t connect either, has something to do with the WiFi, it...

    3.0 Diesel Exhaust Upgrade?

All of the upgrades are cat-back. Basically take the single exhaust at the output of the catalytic convertor, either split it into a dual exhaust, and\or enlarge the exhaust pipe, and the exhaust manufacturers say they also have a less restrictive muffler. I am not sure I would spend around $1k...

    Emergency Active Braking in reverse

My wifes Yukon has 2 quirks, the Reverse Active Braking, which I turn off when backing, the other is the Active Hill Assist , which I despise just as much. The Active Hill Assist is engaged when you are on an incline of 5% or more, it holds the brakes for 1.5 seconds after you take your foot off...

Would you keep your existing truck or get a new one in this situation?

I am not sure why GM hasn't been able to find the cause, other than power train failure, recall and fix it. It seems like most of the 2023 6.2's we have, all the engines have been replaced, at least once. We have a couple of 24's with 6.2's, so far, so good, the highest mileage 24 has a little...

What are these extra wiring harnesses for? (Manx & Universal)

It's not OEM, that company makes harnesses to make add-on's plug and play with the OEM plugs provided. This jewel is a GPS tracking device that recorded latitude/longitude, speed, heavy accelerations, braking, cornering statistics and was actively uploading the data via an internal cellular...

    Dealer oil change $$$

I normally don't use the dealer, my son in law does. IMHO the dealer he uses fleeced him. Oil, oil filter, tire rotation, 30 point check, blah, blah, blah, cost him $255.78 . I thought that was bad, his fuel filter was at 7%, they asked him about changing it, he said sure, he said he...

    Console Scratches

Take a look at GM part# 84921581. Most of the console pieces just pop in and or out, look at the exploded parts diagram to get an idea. I just pieced together a floor console for an older truck, it was easier to assemble than I thought it would be.
