Man, those are pretty bright. Years ago I saw a white trans am with under glow neons, think it was purple or pink. Coming down a dark road, the car looked like it was floating down the road. Looked pretty cool.

Well now rock crawler lights are all the rage. These are just as bright (maybe brighter) and can also be mounted anywhere, ...wheel wells, grille, exc...
I like this idea cause you can replace one light if one light goes out where a strip if a light or two go out you have to replace the whole strip. And a strip is limited for muting options.
But these are only one color.

Ordered these yesterday.

Took the fogs off for some work. Tried to push the chrome shield away from the bulb to let room for longer hids bulbs later on. Also maybe free up some light.



I didn't like it so after I wet sanded the lens i opened them up using a heat gun and two flat heads and patients and removed the shield completely. Huge difference in light output.



Cleaned the chrome reflector bowl. It gets hazy and foggy after years of halogen bulb use and heat. Again big difference.


Remove the adjustment hardware. The adjuster nob unscrews all the way and releasing the spring and leveling rod. These springs get old and worn causing the housing to vibrate. Take the spring and stretch it out. Then install them back in for a snug fit and a lot less vibration from driving.





While I had the lens off I made a cover from a 12"x12" piece of acrylic from home depot. Traced the fog light lens and cut a left and right piece. Then applied a neon yellow film. And threw in some yellow coated bulbs for time being. Used a couple pieces of heavy duty velcro tape for removal and cleaning. If the film starts peeling or chipping I can take off the cover and apply a new film instead of applying it to the actual light on the truck. *lazy man's cover lol* (this is all temporary till a later set up. But was fun to do and works great)




Pretty nice deep 3000k color.




Against 6000k hids.^^^

Have you ever used LED headlights? I'm considering them with projectors instead of hids

I plan on swapping to leds when I do a retrofit with projectors over the winter
