I went with the Truxxx brand because I had 2 different buddies that had nothing but great things to say about them. Also, I got it for X-mas so I just really hinted to it to the woman and she got it for me. Oh, and they sent me a couple of free T-shirts LOL

I think the Truxx front kit was about 200 bucks. The rear kit, I got on ebay...45 bucks shipped? or something like that.

I did the rear lift because I didnt want it to have the "cali" lean and I wanted to keep some forward rake as I do a little bit of towing

Tires are from Discount tire...291 a piece i think. I know they are a little bit pricey but I really love the meaty look of them and they ride quiet and smooth for as aggressive as they are. not to mention the tax return money was burning a hole in my pocket!

Any change in the ride from the leveling kit and new tires?

What is the difference from the 4" lift and 285/65/18 than the leveling kit with 295's

leveling kit alone does not change the ride....the new tires changed it because they are Load Range E and I run 50-60 psi

Dont know anything about a 4" lift so I couldnt tell you

Great looking Tahoe! also running E range Duratracs ( 265's ) on my 07 2500. No sidewall flex here. I'm running 55 up front and 60 in the rear.

i will say that the sidewall flex is more than the stock duelers but it is not so bad that i cant stand it

one thing i dont get is that now (after leveling and tires) my traction control cuts power when i floor it when cruising at about 60???? i know for a fact the tires are not slipping at those speeds!

any thoughts? sidewalls or tread deforming to make the TCM think its slipping??? i dont know

Might be a throttle body issue. I had the same thing happen on my '09. Does it go into limp mode? Reduced power, traction control off, etc?

It's a common problem on the Tahoes, defect in the part.

Emann, question. Do you think the Duratrac's will fit with a CCM leveling kit? I bought that to install and just noticed your's was the Truxxx. CCM is a 2.5/1" rear, not 1.5.

you shouldnt have a problem fitting these tires with the CCM kit...the rear has plenty of clearance....remember that you will more than likely have to do the same trimming that I did up front

Well, couldn't fit the Duratracs on mine with the CCM 2.5/1". Not sure why, but I would have had to do some major trimming to allow for wheel travel. It wasn't just rubbing behind the small black piece on the bottom of the bumper, it was rubbing a good 3" above that. Any travel up and down would have made it worse. Not sure if there is a difference between the 08 & 09 that made the difference. I did notice the small black piece on mine looks different than your 08's.

Ended up putting on a set of 285 BFG's. Will post some pics later.
