Well, couldn't fit the Duratracs on mine with the CCM 2.5/1". Not sure why, but I would have had to do some major trimming to allow for wheel travel. It wasn't just rubbing behind the small black piece on the bottom of the bumper, it was rubbing a good 3" above that. Any travel up and down would have made it worse. Not sure if there is a difference between the 08 & 09 that made the difference. I did notice the small black piece on mine looks different than your 08's.

Ended up putting on a set of 285 BFG's. Will post some pics later.

Could it be because, he has a Z71, which has different shocking and different wheel flares? Just throwing it out there.

mine also rubbed about 2-3 inches above the black piece (removed) on the inner fender...one zip tie took care of that

Yea, but this was moving the entire front bumper cover also because it was hitting it while turning. Wasn't just the wheel well that was an issue. As much as I offroad, was a concern that when that shock traveled it would have caused some damage.

Emann,
Your rig looks sweet! I am looking at leveling my Yuk XL, pretty much same set up. I have one worry though......do you know the overall height? I am hoping it will still fit in my garage when I am done.

I'm thinking I may have to take off the roof racks. If you know the measurement it would be very helpful.

thanks for the compliments!

i can get some measurements but i can tell you now that mine fits in the garage. I had to move the rear bar all the way back and the front rack all the way forward. This way the rear bar passes under the lowest point of the garage door before the tire rides up the garage floor concrete lip...this is when the trucks "lifts" highest. The front bar was moved forward for the same reason.

Does this make sense? if not, I can try to explain/take pictures to clarify

Emann,
First of all Gig ‘Em!

Second, that is a one bad mofo hoe.

I have a similar black ’07 Z71 stock, prepping for the truxxx 2.5” adjustable front leveling kit and likely the 1.5” rear spacer, as you have done. Once that’s installed, I’m debating which tires to buy: the BFG All Terrain 285/65R18 or the Goodyear DuraTrac 295/65R18.

I like the slightly larger size and slightly more aggressive look of the GY, but am more familiar and comfortable with the BFGs. (Also I have read some very mixed reviews of the GY DuraTrac tires)

So, since some time/miles have passed, are you still satisfied with the DuraTrac ride comfort, hwy handling, tread wear, sidewall stiffness/flex, etc? (assuming you are still running around on ‘em)

Thanks!

cjweb,

Gig 'em! Class of '07 here!

I absolutely love the GY Duratracs. At first, they seemed a bit "squishy" (sp) when changing lanes on the highway but then I found out that they were only inflated to 35 psi. I bumped them up to 50 psi and that is what I run in them constantly.

So tread wear...this is the great thing! They are E rated tires...as in heavy load, 3/4 or 1 ton hauling trailers load rating. The tread depth is almost as it was brand new to this day.

I do highly recommend the GY duratracs although they are a bit pricey.

Thanks for the compliments all!

Let me know if you have any more questions regarding my setup.
